It’s hard to argue that the B’s aren’t the Eastern Conference’s best team. They’ve won four in a row and are 8-1-1 away from TD Garden. Coach Claude Julien couldn’t have dreamed of a better start.

They lead the East in points, but the Bruins get the nod since Boston played three fewer games.

Nobody deserves the amount of injuries suffered by the Senators: defenseman Erik Karlsson (out for season), center Jason Spezza (out indefinitely) and goalie Craig Anderson (day-to-day).

CANUCKS (10-5-4)
The team everyone loves to hate is off to its usual solid start. They have yet to trade Roberto Luongo and he’s been better than projected starter Cory Schneider (5-4-1).

DEVILS (10-5-4)
This is misleading since the Devils are freefalling a bit with Martin Brodeur placed on IR earlier this week. Their games are not easy to watch but they usually get the job done.

PREDS (9-7-5)
Predators can’t score goals, but Pekka Rinne (85-4, 1.90 GAA, 3 shutouts) is one of the NHL’s best.

BLUES (10-6-2)
After a great start, the Blues have come back to Earth (4-4-2 in their last 10). Still, there is plenty of reason to believe in their deep and talented roster. One to watch in the Western Conference.

LEAFS (12-9-0)
It’s hard to trust a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in nearly a decade (and own longest Cup drought). Still, the Leafs are playing decently despite shaky goaltending.

STARS (10-8-2)
The Michael Ryder trade, which netted Erik Cole in return, was about building cap space for the future. But that won’t sell more tickets in an awful pucks market.

SHARKS (9-6-3)
For the first few weeks, right there with Chicago. Then went 2-6-2 and started to fold.
