The Land of the Unexpected Papua New Guinea is “the land of the unexpected.” It is a place where primitive brutality meets hightech mobile phones. Where rugged bushland meets tender hearts. Where ABWE missionaries meet local pastors as equal partners in the work of multiplying churches and training leaders. By their courageous witness and by God’s intervening grace, the next generation of warriors will wield the sword of the Spirit instead of the arrows of “payback” revenge.
Steve and Sue Mayo serve ABWE teams in the Asia Pacific region, ranging from Japan in the north to Papua New Guinea and Australia in the south and Southeast Asia in the middle. They live in Sydney near their grown children and four grandchildren.
