O
ur family of the month features a blended family that is a mixture of both Goodson and Hintz, from Mesquite, Texas. Kevin Goodson is a Quality Assurance Analyst who takes great pride in running software tests for Realpage Inc. Kevin is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys riding his Harley Davidson on the weekends. His wife, Tammy Goodson, is a trial paralegal at one of North Texas’s largest womenowned law firms, Estes Thorne & Carr where she sits on the Pro Bono Committee. Tammy is an industrious employee, who is instrumental to her firm’s success and is also a big reason why the firm has been featured as part of the Best Law Firms in America by U.S. News for six consecutive years. Tammy’s son and oldest child, Brett Hintz is a recent graduate of Dr. John D Horn High School’s class of 2018. Brett graduated in the top three percent of his class and will attend his dream school, the University of Texas at Austin in the fall, where he plans to pursue a degree in journalism and hopes to also pursue a law degree from UT’s prestigious law school. Brett maintained high level grades while also being the starting catcher for Horn High School’s varsity baseball team in his junior and senior season, in which he was the battery for all but two games in both seasons combined. In his senior season, Brett was voted by his coaches as defensive player of
the year, a skill that he will transfer to college with him as he plans to be the bullpen catcher for the Longhorn’s highly distinguished baseball program. Tammy’s youngest child, Ryleigh Hintz, is preparing to be a sophomore at Dr. John D Horn High School, and while it is early, she too is a part of the top five percent of her class. She does excellent work in the classroom while handling her responsibilities as an Athletic Trainer for Horn’s football and baseball teams. She plans to join her brother at the University of Texas upon graduating from Horn High School’s in 2021. Although
unsure of what she wants to do in college, she will most likely pursue a major that is math oriented, as she has always excelled in various math courses over the course of her academic career. Kevin’s youngest daughter, Katie Goodson, graduated as part of the class of Dr. John D Horn’s class of 2016 and is an avid animal lover who impressively owns her own dog sitting company at the young age of twenty one. To add on to her love for animals, particularly dogs, Katie worked tirelessly to become a certified groomer at Petsmart where she passionately cares for and grooms dogs of all shapes and sizes.
