C’era una volta un mago… Narra la leggenda che un tempo il druido celta Merlino, cultore dei riti e dei misteri degli alberi della foresta, raggiunse la conoscenza suprema sulla cima di un pino. Da quel momento fu doatato di magici poteri di veggenza e di metamorfosi, imparò a dialogare con gli animali e a leggere il futuro sugli alberi…Dalla storia del mago Merlino deriva non solo il nome ma anche l’amore per il legno e la sapienza artigiana della sua lavorazione, tramandata da oltre un secolo di generazione in generazione. Creare mobili e giocattoli di qualità che stimolano la creatività e la fantasia dei più piccoli, aiutandoli a crescere in un ambiente sereno e sicuro, è da sempre la filosofia progettuale di Merlino.
Once upon a time there was a wizard… The legend tells that once the celtic druid Merlino, who knew the rituals and the mysteries of the supreme knowledge on the top of a pine tree. He obtained the magic powers of prophet and methamorphosis and he learnt how to speak to animals and how to read the future from the trees. From the tale of wizard Merlino, our fir takes not only the name but also the love for the wood and the craftsman’s learning of its working. Merlino hands on this tradition from generation to generations. The Merlino philosophy is to create high quality furniture and toys, that simulate the creativity and the imagination of little children and helps them to grow un in a safe and quiet environment.

Camminare, saltare, sperimentarsi in percorsi, rielaborare, rivedersi, saper riconoscere e distinguere diverse superfici e diverse tipologie di materiali. Un luogo per interrogarsi, conoscere‌ crescere. Moving means accumulating the treasures of small conquests and being surrounded by spaces, furnishings and instruments which give us security in each phase of this learning process. Walking, jumping, trying out activities, processing again, meet again, to recognize and distinguish different surfaces and different types of materials. A place for questioning, knowing... growing.
Exploring spaces and volumes, different consistencies, hand eye coordination using the mouth and the hands, and then the whole body. The sensation of a border, a structures which embraces with warmth and can transmit balance, harmony and security to let courage grow for continuous discovery.

A terra, in piedi, sul tavolo, con le dita, con il pennello, con tutto il corpo, con le terre, con le tempere, con gli acquarelli, il colore è la caratteristica trasversale che accomuna e al contempo diversifica dagli altri ogni singolo materiale. La manipolazione del colore è sovente uno degli aspetti più curati del laboratorio della prima infanzia. Le soluzioni qui proposte esprimono come si possa coniugare la specificità di questo particolare ambiente con la trasformabilità indispensabile soprattutto nelle piccole strutture.
Libellula Dragonfly I primi passi e le prime esperienze…Ogni bambino necessita di spazi propri in cui evolvere le sue capacità psico motori; da qui la necessità di creare strutture sicure, volte allo sviluppo del movimento e dei primi passi compiuti da soli… First steps and first experiences…every child needs his every own space in which to evolve his psychomotor capacity. Thus the necessity for creating safe structures, dedicated to the development of a child’s first steps taken all by himself.
On the ground, standing up, on the table, with your finger, with the brush, with your whole body, with oil paint, with watercolors; color is the transversal characteristic which gives sameness and at the same time sets apart one material from all others. The manipulation of color is often the most important aspect in the workshop for child products. The solutions proposed here express how it is possible to unite the specifics of this particular environment with the transformability which is indispensable especially in small structures.
