2008 Rebecca Vannoy Bailey graduated from Duke

Physician Assistant Program in August 2013. Cynthia Abell-Brown graduated from Campbell in 2012 with a master’s degree in clinical research. She works for Merck as an associate specialist-quality systems and compliance. Cindy Adcock Carey was married in 2010 and has been living in Henderson, teaching third and fourth grades. Mary Katherine Edwards moved to Charlotte and manages a J. McLaughlin Clothing store. Melissa Roberson Felton worked in Wake County Public Schools for four years. She had her first son in July 2012 and is now staying home full time. Courtney Godwin is working for Duke Realty Corporation in Washington, D.C. Brittany Allred Hout graduated from East Carolina University’s physician assistant master’s program. She is serving in the Navy as a PA. She lives with her husband and daughter in Virginia Beach, Va. Mary Kate Ruth Humphrey was married in 2009 and now has two sons. Brooke Johnson is now in software sales after leaving retail as a makeup artist for Chanel. Caitlin Lawless has been teaching elementary grades for five years. Britney Brown Matthews is still working with BB&T and is also involved with Forsyth County’s Young Leaders United group, serving as vice chair. Nicole Miller is a mentor and evaluator of preschool teachers with Early Educator Support. She has two handsome sons. Laura Mitchell has returned to East Carolina University in pursuit of a physician assistant degree. Carol Anne Roberson Oakes moved to the Raleigh area and was recently married to Robert Oakes. She has become a doula to assist in delivering babies. Rebecca Allen Poole and her husband are building a house in Apex. Lauren Poteat graduated with her master’s degree in library and information studies in 2012. She was hired as the business services librarian and nonprofit coordinator at the Greensboro Public Library. Carrie Pratt completed a master’s degree at the University of Tennessee in 2010 and is teaching in Catawba County. Meredith Pugh finished her second year of AmeriCorps in July 2012 and began a new job as the AmeriCorps program coordinator. Laura Tietgen Racz is married and working in research at Duke University. Ashley Smith is teaching third grade and living in Raleigh. Susan Stewart is a 4th Grade teacher in Raleigh. Meredith Strickland is pursuing a master’s degree in Christian education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with an anticipated graduation

Melissa Bland Turner graduated cum laude from Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2013 with a Doctor of Pharmacy. She has taken a position with CVS in Dunn, N.C. Stephanie Wilbanks is pursuing an MBA at Meredith College.

Hillary Morgan spent five weeks in Beijing in the fall of 2012 getting certified to teach middle and high school English. Amanda Bridgeman Slatter and her husband live in Durham. She is a graphic designer at UNC Creative.

2010 Maggie Lally traveled back to Ireland for another glorious two weeks of study abroad, completed her M.A. in English, and is an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston and the Citadel. Emily McKenzie is a graphic designer at UNCGreensboro. Meredith Moore Moody is now serving as the campaign coordinator in Meredith College’s department of Institutional Advancement. Lauren Williams has returned to her hometown, Roseboro, N.C. She is a reporter for Sampson Independent newspaper. She enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, cooking, singing in her church choir, and taking care of her two cats.

2011 Beth Howard graduated in May 2013 from Pace

University with a Master of Science in mental health counseling with a concentration in grief and loss. She has moved back to Raleigh. Jamie Rice has been accepted into NCSU’s School of Social Work Advanced Standing program. Terria Bates created and directed an original play, “The 9th Commandment,” presented in October 2012 at Halifax Community College.
