their child’s classroom. They have the opportunity to speak with teachers about their child’s progress, needs and abilities. Our students generally get to show their parents around their classrooms, informing them our activities, projects and assignments they have completed. Many students help the teachers to prepare the classrooms for the open house by decorating the room, displaying artwork, projects and other assignments. Positive results are likely when teachers and parents work together to identify students’ needs and implement strategies to meet them. We thank our par-

ICAS is unique, being the most comprehensive generally available suite

of academic assessments and school tests for primary and secondary school students. The assessments comprise Computer Skills tests, English tests, Maths tests, Science tests, and Writing tests. A new ICAS test is developed annually for each subject in each year level by EAA team of subject matter experts. All ICAS tests are reviewed by experienced teachers to ensure that they accurately assess students’ skills and are relevant to what they are learning at school. Some schools use ICAS as a placement test. Other schools use ICAS results as a component of
a student’s overall academic achievement
for the year. While still others offer ICAS as a psychometric test to better understand what students can and can’t do at a point in time. http://icasindonesia.co.id/page/about-icas Two of the Grade 6 students took the assessment. We helped and supported them. The school scheduled review sessions in preparation for the different subjects. During their review classes, they learned different techniques on how to answer challenging questions. They had thorough discussions in each subject areas. Katlaina and Daelenia had a worth experience participating this international competition and assessments for schools.

Midterm Examination
Exams are a great way to reinforce and evaluate students' understanding of the subjects’ content and main ideas. There are several different ways to approach exams including an essay, multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, matching, quote/passage identification, character identification, etc. with plenty of flexibility for what the teacher deems important. Our students have to study all the lessons that they have learned to prepare for their tests in different subjects. Despite being busy with midterm preparations, they were still able to actively participate in classroom activities and submit the needed requirements.
Parent-Teacher Conference Parents often find themselves at school for parent-teacher conference this month of October. Parents have the opportunity to sit down one-on-one with the teacher to talk about the progress of their child. It's important to use this time to share their impressions of the school year and to ask any questions that they might have.
