Circle time with Shinta Circle Time is a daily routine done inside or outside the classroom. This is headed by the class teacher and /or sometimes with the assistant teacher. Students used this activity to express their opinions about different things, sometimes they used the time to reflect on themselves, too. As the classroom teacher, I used circle time to update them on their academic performances . We utilized the time on how are we going to maintain and improve their academic and behavior performances. This is also the time to read books with them, watch informative videos, listen to music, tidy up our things, share our thoughts about anything and to set our goals. Of course, rewards were also given when we achieve our goals like the picture beside this article. Circle time is very important because this keep us one and united. We are all looking forward of seeing each other and spend a productive circle time together.

What’s up for the months of November and December ? November and December were activity fun-pack months. They were able to exercise team work, social skills, mathematical proficiency, linguistic talents, musical gifts, and critical thinking abilities. To start it of, the pictures below shows their cute attire for Reading week’s event. They also hosted a book carnival headed by Ms. Kathrina, English teacher, and assisted by Mr. Sesa and Ms. Florgin. You can obviously see on the pictures how much fun they had on that week. They ended the celebration by performing a Jazz chant entitled “ There was an old lady who swallowed a fly”. Last November too, James and Nicholas Sindhu represented Grade 3 for the Annual SASMO, S Association of Singapore Math Olympiads. James bagged a bronze medal because of his selfless training with Ms. Christine, Math teacher. We started the month of December with Midterm examinations, then “Godong Hijo” field trip and ended with an Annual Holiday Concert and Holiday party. Pictures on the right showcases their adventures in Godong Hijo. They expressed they artistic talents through clay molding and bamboo pencil holder making. They helped out in the mini farm. They met different types of animals in the mini-zoo. They enjoyed playing traditional games and most of all catching fishes. It was a great experience for 3-Shinta and they will never forget it.
