Parent-Teacher Conference Benefits All

The school conducts a Parent-Teacher Conference or PTC every after midterm examinations. This event updates parents about their child’s performance in school. Parents benefit from this by getting involved on their children’s education program. They will be able to know if their child is able to meet the expectation of all the subject area, if not parents get an idea on how to help and support their children on the subject area that He or She needs to work on and/or maintain. Teachers look at this as an opportunity to know their students’ distinct needs and behavior at home. This will help the teachers use good strategies to meet the students’ academic and behavior needs. Most of the time teachers discover each student’s unique behavior that gives them awareness and understanding on how to have a motivated and enthusiastic learner. PTC makes students aware that both parents and teachers are acknowledging their work in school. This boosts their motivation in learning, improves their behavior in and out of school and gives them a positive attitude towards school work and home work. PTC is a win-win situation for everyone especially for the students who are mostly in need of guidance and attention. I am hoping to see you again on the next PTC, until we meet again dear parents.

Open House: Open doors for Parents and Learners September and October were the OPEN HOUSE months. Open house is a school-event that let the parents and students explore and experience the school’s educational offerings. This is the most effective way to educate our Parents of how good and effective the curriculum is to their children. They are welcome to ask questions and get a clarification of how the curriculum benefits their children’s holistic traits. Through this, parents will be more confident and worry-free about their children’s school. Pictures on your right shows how parents listen actively to Ms. Penny, Science teacher of grade 3Shinta, as she presents the coverage of her subject. The picture below shows Sanders, Ivanna, Lanalaine, Gwen and Melinda of 3- Shinta as they present the different grade 3 subject areas’ coverages. It developed their oral communication ability more and boosted their confidence in facing different kind of audiences.
