10 Things a Personal Journey

Another “more of Him” moment came that same week when Brenda arranged tickets for Kowonia and me to attend a gospel concert while she traveled out of town. I was excited for the opportunity and assumed we would be in general seating, possibly in the balcony. When we arrived at the information desk to pick up our tickets, our names weren’t on the list. We got a little nervous!

Suddenly, Brenda’s colleague appeared reassuring us we had seats.

“Come with me,” she said. We were given blue wristbands and obediently followed. The church was HUGE. She kept leading us closer and closer to the front of the sanctuary. This Scripture flooded my mind: But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
