Tom Bowen was named the University of Memphis Director of Athletics in an Apr. 16, 2012, press conference in the Penny Hardaway Athletics Hall of Fame assembly room. Bowen officially started work on the U of M campus in June. Bowen leads the Athletics Department at the University of Memphis after serving as the Athletics Director at San Jose State University (SJSU) since December 2004. While at San Jose State, the core of Bowen’s mission was building a “Culture of Champions” academically, athletically and in the community. To reach that end, Bowen instilled a greater sense of purpose, commitment and execution from student-athletes, coaches, staff, alumni and friends. An integral member of the SJSU’s presidential staff, Bowen created and implemented short and long-term revenue streams for intercollegiate athletics. He led the Spartan Foundation — the department’s fundraising component — through consistently challenging and uncertain economic conditions to unprecedented fiscal heights at the university. The Spartans produced annual budget surpluses four-straight years under his direction and re-invested their gains back into their studentathletes and teams. In his first four football seasons (2005-08), San Jose State produced the most wins at the school since 1990-93. Last year, the Spartans were one of the most improved teams in the FBS with road wins at Colorado State and Fresno State and a home triumph in their first meeting with Navy. The 2006 through 2008 Spartans were the first three SJSU teams to post consecutive .500 or better records in the Western Athletic Conference football standings. The 2006 Spartans capped their finest season in many years, posting a 9-4 overall record and capturing the New Mexico Bowl championship. Recent athletics accomplishments add to his “Culture of Champions.” Women’s golf, women’s soccer, baseball and women’s swimming were the latest teams to win a Western Athletic Conference championship. Women’s water polo is a consistent top-10 national program. Women’s swimming finished 2008-09 with the longest dual meet winning streak in Division I. Women’s gymnastics is entrenched as a NCAA Regional Championship qualifying team. Men’s basketball, men’s soccer and men’s golf have produced measurable gains, particularly in conference competition.

The Spartans have earned All-America honors in football, women’s golf, baseball and women’s water polo. San Jose State had its first women’s gymnastics individual NCAA Regional champion in 2009. Twelve student-athletes were honored nationally and more than 100 at the conference level for academic achievements in 2009-10. Bowen’s vision for student-athlete success and excellence led to the creation of a Student Success Services component. Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores, as measured by the NCAA, have risen steadily and strikingly under his watch and were at a then university-best in 2009 and were surpassed in the 2010 report. In 2008, San Jose State was named as one of 12 Division I universities cited for Overall Excellence in Diversity in the most recent national study by Texas A&M University on behalf of the NCAA. Bowen’s proven administrative and managerial record at San Jose State has resulted in meaningful national appointments in college athletics. He served as one of eight Football Bowl Subdivision directors of athletics on the 24-member NCAA Division I Football Issues Committee, an appointment that ended in 2011. In 2009, Bowen was one of 12 named to serve as a mentor to aspiring women and ethnic minority athletics administrators in the NCAA Fellows Leadership Program. He was the Tournament Director for the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Division I Championship first and second rounds games played in San Jose. Bowen joined the staff at San Jose State after serving three years as the Director of Community Affairs and the executive director of the 49ers Foundation for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He directed all of the team’s fundraising activities and was responsible for alumni and current player participation in the community. His Division I experience at

the collegiate level includes athletics administration positions at the University of California and Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif. As an assistant and associate director of athletics at California from July 2000 through September 2002, he was responsible for athletics fundraising. Bowen was credited with developing the first comprehensive planned giving program for the Golden Bears. At Saint Mary’s College, he was the Director of Foundations and Corporate Relations from May 1995 to January 1997, before being appointed to an associate director of athletics position by the president of the college. From January 1997 through April 2000, he managed the athletics department’s budget, directed a corporate sponsorship program and interacted with the academic senate, faculty and university personnel on student-athlete issues. His first professional leadership appointment in athletics was at De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif. From 1987 through 1995, he held the positions of athletics director and assistant football coach. The 1983 graduate of the University of Notre Dame majored in theology/sociology and spent six years studying for the priesthood with the Holy Cross Fathers. Bowen went on to earn a master’s degree in administration/education from the University of San Francisco in 1990. Active throughout the entire Bay Area, he was named to the San Jose Mercury News’ Top25 Most Powerful Sports Figures in the Bay Area. Bowen served on the board of the San Jose Sports Authority, and he was an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Sports Management and at San Jose State University’s Department of Kinesiology, where he taught sports management classes. He is a Level 2 certified member of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and has memberships in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He and his wife, Mia, are the parents of three children: sons, Andrew and Peter, and daughter, McKenna.

Considered the “Home of the Blues” and the “Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll,” the city of Memphis’ musical roots run deep. However, music is just a chapter in the history as well as the future of the city located in the heart of Mid-America. Memphis, named after the capital of ancient Egypt, has big city amenities with a smalltown feel. Whether you are a hardcore sports enthusiast, a history buff, a music aficionado, or you just like to relax and watch as boats travel the Mississippi River, Memphis has something for everyone. Downtown Memphis has continued to grow and thrive, and two of the most visible projects have been the construction of AutoZone Park and FedExForum. AutoZone Park is the home of the Memphis Redbirds, the St. Louis Cardinals’ Triple-A club. The 14,320-seat stadium includes 1,500 club seats, 48 luxury suites and is located at the corner of Third Street and Union Avenue across from the worldfamous Peabody Hotel. The Memphis Tigers baseball team also plays some of its more highprofile opponents in the top-notch facility. The city’s newest downtown project is FedExForum, an entertainment arena that houses both the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association and the University of Memphis men’s basketball team. The $250 million state-of-the-art arena features a 35,000-squarefoot outdoor plaza where fans of all ages can gather before an event. The arena has over 100 points of sale for concession stands and four fullservice restaurants. FedExForum is located one block south of Beale Street. Memphis’ musical roots can be traced to band leader W.C. Handy, who wrote the first blues song here in 1909, a campaign theme for Memphis mayor “Boss” Crump called “Boss Crump Blues” and later published as the “The Memphis Blues.” The sound soon caught on and blues bands filled the clubs along Beale. Young musicians who have performed along Beale include Muddy Waters, Furry Lewis, Albert King, Bobby “Blue” Bland and B.B. King. Beale Street has rapidly become the entertainment center of Memphis, and visitors and locals alike enjoy the food and music offered in the various nightclubs. Where Beale Street meets the Mississippi River is Tom Lee Park, site of the annual Beale Street Music Festival. The weekend-long event is just a part of the month-long Memphis in May International Festival, which also includes the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and the Sunset Symphony. Located within a block of Beale is Gibson Guitar Memphis, which includes factory tours and cultural exhibits. Across the street is the Smithsonian’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum located at the FedExForum, which includes artifacts documenting music’s past. Memphis’ musical roots also include Stax and Hi-Records as well as Sun Records recording

studio. Stax became known for “sweet soul music” through such artists as the MarKeys, Booker T. and the MGs, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and Isaac Hayes. The Stax Museum reopened on its original location at McLemore and Crump in the summer of 2003 and offers visitors a complete history of “Soulsville USA.” One of Hi-Records’ premier artists was Al Green. Sun Records’ most famous recording artist was Elvis Presley and also boasted Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash among its recording artists. Elvis Presley’s Graceland is one of the five most-visited home tours in America and is the most famous home in the United States after the White House. In 1991, Graceland was placed on the National Register of Historical Places. Over 600,000 visitors tour Graceland each year. Also located downtown is the beautiful Orpheum Theater, which serves as a venue for performances by Ballet Memphis, the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and traveling Broadway shows, as well as the Orpheum Classic Movies series and other concerts. The city’s location makes Memphis a major distribution hub with two interstate highways intersecting the city. Memphis is also home of FedEx, the nation’s largest package carrier which makes Memphis International Airport the world’s busiest cargo airport. Over 500 commercial passenger flights originate from Memphis International each day. Ranked by The Sporting News as one of the “Top 50 Sports Cities In the Country,” the city of Memphis is a large metropolitan city with a hometown feel. 2012 Memphis Fall Spor ts Tiger Traditions When the University of Memphis first fielded a football team in the fall of 1912, no one had selected a nickname for the squad. Early references to the football team tabbed them only as the Blue and Gray Warriors of West Tennessee Normal School. After the final game of the 1914 season, there was a student parade. During this event, several Normal students shouted, “We fight like Tigers.” The nickname was born. More and more the nickname “Tigers” was used, particularly in campus publications. But, it did not catch on with the newspapers downtown. They continued to use “Normals” or the “Blue and Gray” when referring to the University. In the late 1920s, student publications and downtown newspapers began referring to the football team as the “Teachers” or “Tutors.” The Tigers nickname would return, but not until 1939 was it finally adopted as the official nickname for the University of Memphis. For nearly 40 years, the sideline mascot for the University of Memphis has been a Bengal Tiger named TOM. TOM attends all Tigers football home games, and he can also be found at many other University events throughout the year. TOM travels in style in a custom-designed, climate-controlled trailer and always with police escort. As one of only two universities in America with a live tiger mascot, The University of Memphis is unique in its tiger tradition. As a project of the Highland Hundred, no public or University funds are used to provide for TOM’s needs, and no University resources are required in his care. TOM is a powerful and majestic symbol of the University of Memphis, and his presence presents constant opportunities to educate Tigers fans young and old through

The first Tiger, TOM, was procured by the Highland Hundred football boosters in 1972 and served the U of M faithfully for nearly 20 years until passing away in February of 1992. The Highland Hundred officially presented TOM to the University in a ceremony at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on Nov. 11, 1972, during a football game against the University of Cincinnati. TOM had initially been named ‘Shane’ at the suggestion of the breeder’s daughter. Once in Memphis, though, a contest was held to name the mascot. More than 2,500 entries were submitted. The list was ultimately reduced to two choices, Shane and TOM, which stands for Tigers Of Memphis. TOM won. Shortly after TOM II’s death, the Tiger Guard began the search for a new tiger to serve as TOM III, and a stroke of good luck was realized in a discussion with the Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue & Educational Center in Rock Springs, Wis. Faced with three new cubs born Aug. 31, 2008, after an unexpected pregnancy at their facility, founders Jeff Kozlowski and Jenny Meyer offered to donate one of their young tigers to serve as TOM III. TOM III was introduced at a press conference on Nov. 17, 2008, and the Tiger Guard officially presented him to the University on Nov. 22 during a football game against the UCF.

The Logo The University of Memphis’ official logo was redesigned by Craig Thompson from Disciple Design in Memphis, Tenn. The original logo was an MSU with a leaping Tiger coming out from behind the letter. The new logo is an “M” with a leaping Tiger coming up over the center of the “M.”

School Colors The University of Memphis’ official school colors of Blue and Gray were selected in the early 1900s. The colors were chosen in an effort to show unity in a nation that was still recovering from the effects of the Civil War. The student body thought that by picking the colors of the North and the South, the school would show a togetherness among all students.

ranks among the top-10 percent in their sports. Harrelson’s Lady Tigers also have earned individual academic accolades. Steen, a three-time CUSA All-Academic Team pick, became the program’s first CoSIDA Academic All-District IV selection in 2011. Glavin was also named to the 2012 C-USA All-Academic Team. In the summer of 2012, six Lady Tigers were named NGCA AllAmerican Scholar recipients, the most for a season in school history. Overall, six golfers have taken home 16 NGCA All-American Scholar distinction in the Harrelson era. The 2011-12 and 2009-10 campaigns were successful, but it was the in-between season — 201011 — that has been Harrelson’s to date. In 2010-11, Memphis posted a school-record seven top-five finishes, including three tournament titles (Bobcat Invitational, UAB Fall Beach Blast, Lady Eagle Classic). The three team crowns were the most since the program also won three tournaments in 1996-97. The 2010-11 Lady Tigers also had eight top-10 showings, the most since the 2000-01 squad had 10 top-10s. The 2010-11 team placed fourth at the C-USA Championships, and Steen was the event’s individual runner-up. Steen also won three individual titles, tying Stacey Tate for the most crowns in a season. Tate’s three individual titles came in 2006. Although the 2010-11 season somewhat overshadowed the 2009-10 and 2011-12 campaigns, those Harrelson teams produced great moments. The 2009-10 squad had eight top-10 finishes and six top-five showings, including two team titles. The Lady Tigers placed fourth at the C-USA Championships, posting the program’s third-lowest, 54-hole score (895). It is also Memphis lowest 54-hole total at the league’s postseason event. Individually, Aläng carded the second-lowest, 54-hole individual score (219) in Lady Tigers C-USA Championships history. In 2011-12, Harrelson’s Lady Tigers logged seven top-10 showings and three top-five finishes, including two tournament champi-

Beth Harrelson is in her fifth season as the Memphis head coach in 2012-13 and continues to build the Lady Tigers golf program into a national force. In her first four seasons, Harrelson’s Lady Tigers have not only been successful, but also consistent in their play. Harrelson’s squads have averaged seven top-10 finishes and four top-five performances per season. Overall, her clubs have a total of 29 top-10 showings and 16 top-five finishes, including seven tournament championships. The seven team titles in Harrelson’s tenure are tied for the most in the program’s history under one coach. The other head coach to lead Memphis women’s golf to seven team crowns was Debby King from 1995-2001. Among those top-five showings were back-to-back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the last three Conference USA Championships. The three-straight, top-five C-USA Championships performances are the program’s most since the Lady Tigers had seven-consecutive

top-five showings from 1996-2002. In addition to team titles, the Lady Tigers have set school marks under Harrelson. Her Memphis squads hold the school’s top-three lowest single-round scores, two of the lowest 36-hole scores (1st and 5th) and two of the 54-hole scores (both tied for 3rd). Individual golfers also have thrived under Harrelson’s tutelage. Marissa Steen, a three-time All-Conference USA pick, holds the program’s lowest (73.9) and thirdlowest (74.9) season stroke average. A five-time C-USA Golfer of the Week recipient, Steen won six individual titles and was named to the 2011 C-USA All-Tournament Team. Kathleen Glavin won medalist honors once, and Alex Aläng posted the program’s second-lowest, 54-hole C-USA Championships score at the 2010 event. The seven individual medalists under Harrelson are the most since King had 10 individual winners from 1995-2001. Harrelson’s teams have also excelled in the classroom. The past three years (2010, 2011, 2012), the Lady Tigers received academic recognition from the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), Conference USA and the NCAA. Harrelson’s last three squads earned NGCA All-Scholar Team honors and C-USA Sport Academic Awards. The C-USA accolade is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest grade-point average. For the third-straight year, the Lady Tigers received an NCAA Public Recognition Award for the program’s multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR). The awards are given to programs whose APR

A 1987 Memphis graduate, Harrelson participated on the Futures Tour for two years (1986-88), before moving to Scottsdale, Ariz., to work as an assistant professional at the TPC of Scottsdale during the winter and at Stonebridge Golf Club (Collierville, Tenn.) the remainder of the year. In 1987, Harrelson won the Memphis Women’s Golf Association and Double Eagle Golf tournament. She also was the 1988 Tennessee State Tournament medalist. She returned to the city of Memphis permanently in 1990 and accepted as full-time position as the assistant pro at Stonebridge Golf Club. She became the golf instructor at Stonebridge in 1991 and held that position until 1998 when she moved to Quail Ridge Golf Club in Bartlett, Tenn., as the golf instructor. While working at Stonebridge Golf Club, she earned her PGA Class A membership in 1995. A Briarcrest High School graduate, Harrelson signed a volleyball scholarship with the University of Alabama, before declining that offer to attend Memphis. She arrived on campus in 1982 and played for head coach Diane Hale’s Tigers volleyball program. After redshirting the 1983-84 academic year, Harrelson made the transition to golf in 1984 and received the team’s Most Improved Player award for the 1984-85 campaign. As a senior, Harrelson was selected team captain and posted the team’s lowest scoring average. Harrelson, a 1999 M Club Hall of Fame member-, also was inducted into the Briarcrest High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. She and her husband, Tim, have two daughters, Megan and Grace, and a son, Jon.

2012 Memphis Fall Spor ts Women’s Golf History 1977-79 • The University of Memphis women’s golf program began in 1977 under current Associate Athletics Director Lynn Parkes. With a handful of tryouts, Parkes started a program that today is one of the most-respected in the country. Members of that first Lady Tigers team were Theresa Simi, Gloria Carkeet, Cindy Gabel, Kathy Whitetree, C.C. Chamberlain and Sydney Forrester. • In the second season, Parkes awarded three scholarships, and that number increased to 10 scholarship players in 1979-80. The first scholarship Lady Tigers were Monice Madden, Jackie Worley and Elaine Heroux, a junior college transfer. • The 1978-79 team participated in eight events and placed in the top-10 in four tournaments. Mary Ann Bailey had a season-low round of 78, and she also qualified for the USGA Women’s Amateur. Karen Young was signed in 1978-79 and became an impact player. The squad captured its first team championship in the Tennessee College Women’s State Finals Tournament (TCWSF) in 1979. • In 1979-80, Maureen Danehy and Susan Hundley became Lady Tigers. Hundley won the Indiana Long Driving Competition prior to signing with the Memphis.

1980-89 • By 1982-83, Kathy Vendetti was added to the already-strong Lady Tigers lineup. She immediately made a name for herself and, before she graduated, set virtually every school record. The Lady Tigers placed in the top-10 in all four spring tournaments in 1983, including its best spring finish of fifth at the Troy State Tournament. Vendetti had a 78.8 stroke average and posted a low round of 74 at the Carrier/Memphis State Women’s Tournament. Of Vendetti’s 26 rounds that year, 16 were in the 70s. • Sally Andrews, a well-known local golfer, joined Memphis as an assistant coach in 1983-84 and helped Coach Lynn Parkes mold an even stronger team. Vendetti led the Lady Tigers, placing third at the Alabama Intercollegiate. Renee Schafer joined Vendetti, and together, they fired more rounds in the 70s. Vendetti had a season-low round of 72 at the Furman Intercollegiate and carded 75s at the Lady Seminole and Carrier/Memphis State Women’s Open. Schafer also shot a 75 at the Memphis Open.

• Beth Walthal and Leslie Folsom were the leaders for the 1985-86 Lady Tigers. The Folsom-Walthal tandem led the squad to fifth-place finishes at the Kentucky Lady Kat Intercollegiate and Metro Conference Championships. • In 1986-87, Andrews took over as the program’s head coach when Parkes was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Women’s Sports. Andrews inherited a team that included Angie Barker, Cynthia Brooks and Folsom. The program added its first international players in Chilean Beatriz Cowman and Canadian Heather Lee. Andrews also inked Gia Kronske from Clearwater, Fla. • In 1987-88, Christi Parkes, sister of Lynn Parkes, joined forces with Cowman, Lee and Kronske to post impressive scores. Parkes had a 75 at the Metro Conference Championships. Cowman had a 76 at the Southern Intercollegiate, while Kronske finished 16th at the Hudson Invitational with a low round of 75. Lee was fourth at the Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate, and Barker finished tied for seventh at the Metro Conference Championships with a three-round total of 235. • Brooks was named the team’s Most Improved Player in 1988-89. Cowman continued her solid play, firing a 74 at UAB’s Lady Blazer Tournament in the fall of 1988. The squad won the Lady Blazer Tournament, the team’s first NCAA-sanctioned tournament title. Kronske placed seventh at the Metro Conference Championships and sixth at the Tiger-Tide Invitational. She received All-Metro Conference honors and finished the season with a 79.4 stroke average. Lee had rounds of 73-74 at the True Temper/Memphis Women’s Open and led the team with a season-best 78.7 stroke average. • The Lady Tigers placed second at the UAB Lady Blazer Tournament in 1989-90, with Cowman, Kronske and Lee leading the squad. Cowman had a 74.2 stroke average in the fall and placed fifth at the Kentucky Lady Kat Invitational. Both Kronske and Lee had season stroke averages in the 70s.

1990-99 • Lori Brock came on board as the program’s head coach in 1991-92, and under her tutelage, the Lady Tigers captured the program’s second official tournament championship, winning the Nebraska Women’s Intercollegiate. Memphis added three other top-five finishes at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational (2nd), Tiger-Tide Invitational (4th) and South Alabama Intercollegiate (4th).

University of Memphis

• In 1993-94, the Lady Tigers grabbed the spotlight with their outstanding play. Memphis captured its first Great Midwest Conference (GMC) Championships crown, with Allison Bell and Kim Hunt finishing first and second, respectively, at the event. Coach Brock was named GMC Coach of the Year. Alissa Lauder, the NTU/ SMU Invitational Tournament medalist, qualified for the NCAA Golf Championships, where she placed 27th in a field of 102 golfers. • The 1994-95 Lady Tigers again swept through the Great Midwest Conference (GMC) Championships, winning the title by 47 strokes. The GMC Championships were held at Farmington Country Club in Memphis. Junior Melissa Isham claimed GMC Championships medalist honors, and teammates Marie-Louise Hviid and Bell tied for second. Isham, Hviid, Bell and Cristi Fernandez all earned All-GMC Team honors, and Hviid was also named GMC Newcomer of the Year. Coach Brock was honored as the GMC Coach of the Year for a secondstraight year. • Coach Brock left Memphis in the summer of 1995, and Debby King was hired as the program’s new head coach. In the fall of 1995, King guided Memphis to a team title in the first tournament of her tenure at the Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate. • The Lady Tigers, under the direction of Coach King, continued their stellar play in the fall of 1995, capturing their second tournament title at rain-shortened Lady Panther Invitational. Isham fired a 69 to earn Lady Panther Invitational medalist honors. In addition to the two titles, Memphis recorded three top-five finishes at the Lady Kat Invitational (3rd), Lady Tar Heel Invitational (5th) and Conference USA Championships (2nd). The 1995-96 Lady Tigers earned the program’s first NCAA Regional spot. Freshman Naima Ghilain was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year. • The 1996-97 campaign was the best to date in the program’s history. Led by newcomer Amanda Moltke-Leth, the Lady Tigers won two fall tournaments — Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate and Lady Panther Invitational — and then wrapped up the 1997 spring with the Conference USA Championships title. Moltke-Leth took medalist honors at three tournaments (Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate, Lady Panther Golf Classic, Duke Spring Invitational) and was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year. Coach King received C-USA Coach of the Year accolades and all five Tigers — Kim Hunt, Moltke-Leth, Ghilain, Meredith

2012

Thomas and Valerie Luehrs — were named All-Conference USA. The Lady Tigers earned an NCAA East Regional berth and placed eighth at the event. • The 1997-98 Lady Tigers squad continued to make its mark on the national scene, earning the program’s thirdconsecutive NCAA Regional berth. The Lady Tigers posted seven top-10 finishes and placed 10th at the NCAA East Regional in Durham, N.C. MoltkeLeth and Ghilain both were named All-Conference USA. • In the 1998-99 campaign, the Lady Tigers made it four-in-a-row when the team received another NCAA Regional bid. The Lady Tigers travelled to Columbia, S.C., for NCAA Regional play, and Natalie Tucker led the Memphis NCAA Regional charge with a seventhplace showing. On the year, Tucker had seven top-10 finishes, including first at the Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate and third at the Conference USA Championships. Ghilain, who completed her career with a fifthplace finish at the C-USA Championships, earned All-C-USA honors for a fourth-consecutive year. • The 1999-2000 Lady Tigers spent the fall introducing a number of young players to the collegiate game. Senior Valerie Luehrs led the squad with a second-place finish at the Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate. A Hawaiian trip to play in the Rainbow Wahine Fall Golf Classic was the highlight of the year. The team travelled to the islands and spent an enjoyable week playing in the prestigious college event. It was the program’s first competition outside the continental United States.

2000-09 • The 2000-01 Lady Tigers enjoyed another outstanding season. Despite playing with a young and inexperienced roster, the Lady Tigers won the Conference USA Championships title and earned their NCAA Regional fifth berth in last six seasons. Freshman Meaghan Francella, the C-USA Championships medalist, earned three league honors — C-USA Freshman of the Year, All-Conference USA and CUSA All-Tournament Team. Marianne Ruud was named All-Conference USA and to the C-USA All-Tournament Team, and Jennifer Jaszek garnered CUSA All-Tournament Team accolades. • Prior to the 2001-02 season, Coach Debby King left Memphis to start Notre Dame’s women’s golf program. Katie Rump, an outstanding collegiate and amateur player from the Memphis area, was named the Lady Tigers’ interim head coach. In Rump’s
