Com a incorporação da Hansen Máquinas, a Tigre foi em busca do melhor equipamento de injeção e dos melhores fornecedores de moldes. As injetoras escolhidas foram as da Sandretto e da Engel. Quanto aos moldes, foram comprados na Finlândia, Áustria, Portugal, EUA, Taiwan e Brasil. A fábrica de Rio Claro, considerada em 1997 a mais moderna planta de extrusão de PVC no mundo, produzia 7.000 toneladas/mês de tubos. Olsen:

With the incorporation of Hansen Máquinas, Tigre went in pursuit of the best injection equipment and the top die cast suppliers. The chosen injectors were made by Sandretto and Engel. The die casts were purchased in Finland, Austria, Portugal, the United States, Taiwan and Brazil. The Rio Claro factory, which was named in 1997 the most modern PVC extrusion plant in the world, produced 7,000 monthly tons of pipes. Says Olsen:
– Renovamos a fábrica da Bahia e todo o parque industrial de injetoras e extrusoras de Joinville, o que teve grande impacto tecnológico na companhia. Fizemos também a planta de Recife. Então, fomos buscar mercado para vender, definindo para toda a organização a estratégia, que se resumia em crescer em novos produtos, em novos negócios e com novos mercados. Por que podíamos fazer tudo isso? Porque havia um Conselho que nos apoiava, que permitia que a linha estratégica fosse seguida, que cuidava das próprias atribuições. E quais eram essas atribuições? Estratégia, governança e pessoas. Eles cuidavam disso e nos deixavam cuidar do negócio.
“We renovated the Bahia plant and the entire injectors and extruders plant in Joinville, with great technological impact on the company. We also built our plant in Recife. Then we went looking for the market to sell our goods, setting a strategy for the entire organization that added up to growth in new products, new business lines and new markets. Why were we able to do all this? Because we had the Board’s support, which allowed us to follow the strategic guidelines and minded its own responsibilities. What were those responsibilities? Strategy, governance and people. They took care of that and left us to tend to the business.
