Fish

Fun Facts In this book, there are lots of different types of fish but some of these creatures are not fish at all. Jellyfish are not really fish, so the ‘fish’ part of their name does not describe them well. The ‘jelly’ part of their name suits them though. Here are some jellyfish facts: • Unlike fish, jellyfish have no bones, so they are called invertebrates. •

Jellyfish don’t have gills to breathe with, like fish.

Jellyfish don’t have brains, hearts or eyes.

Jellyfish use their tentacles to stun and catch prey. Some jellyfish are very poisonous.

Turtles love to eat jellyfish. Sometimes, turtles confuse them for plastic bags, which is just one reason to make sure we keep our oceans clean.
