Direct from their Australian and European tours, this select cast of highly talented and accomplished performers have been featured in worldwide smash hits on London’s West End and Off Broadway such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Guys and Dolls, Celtic Nights, The King and I, Spring Awakening, Evita, Rent, and Avenue Q among many others. The World of Musicals was created by a powerhouse team in Dublin who are responsible for Celtic Nights, Gaelforce Dance and On Eagles Wings.

The World of Musicals Artistic Staff

Claire Crehan, Musical Director

Claire Crehan is an accomplished pianist, singer, music educator and director. She graduated with a 1st class honours degree in music from UCC in 2003 and went on to graduate with 1st class honours from the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama with a Masters in Classical Piano Performance.

As a performer, Claire has a broad musical background, ranging from jazz, classical, traditional, tango, African music and Indian music. She was a founding member of the Maynooth Gospel Choir, as a singer, accompanist, composer and arranger. She worked as a pianist with Caroline Moreau and Oleg Pominarov in the show French chanson meets Russian gypsy music for a number of years. Her solo performances include classical piano recitals in the Peppercanister Church, Dublin and in the DIT Conservatory of Music, and more recently solo performances of her original compositions for voice and piano, heavily rooted in Celtic music. She was the choral director and choral conductor for the Irish premiere of Madison’s Descent, a work by renowned Irish composer Micheál Ó Súileabháin in 2013, and currently co-directs four community choirs, composing original music in addition to arranging contemporary music fortheir repertoire. She has toured with Irish singer Jack L as a singer with the Maynooth Gospel Choir, Irish singer Glen Hansard through the Speak Up Sing Out Gospel Choir under the directorship of Eimear & Claire Crehan, arranging his original music for choir. Claire joined GFD Promotionsin 2011 as Musical Director and has been with their shows ever since.

Michael Durkan, Producer

Michael’s own career spans 35 years, both as a performer with the Irish Drovers worldwide and subsequently his own solo singing career. Michael has worked in television for many years, as a performer, a producer and presenter.

Michael has since moved on from his own career as an entertainer and has used his talents and experience to create new and exciting shows. Michael is Executive Producer/ Director of Gaelforce Dance, On Eagle’s Wing, Celtic Angels, A Musical Christmas, Tina-The Rock Legend, Dance Masters, The World of Musicals, The International Magic Tenors, Celtic Angels and Celtic Nights. GFD Promotions has built up a successful touring roster working with some of the most prominent entertainment agencies worldwide, including IMG Artists-New York,Columbia Artist Management (CAMI MUSIC) -New York, LPO –London and with the Chinese Ministry of Culture through P&C Group –Beijing. GFD Promotions tours have played to over 2 million audience

members worldwide since its inception and have toured with these shows in the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Inner Mongolia, Taiwan, South Korea, USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Kaliningrad, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Pippa Holliday, Choreographer

Pippa trained at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and is based in London. Choreographer: The World Of Musicals (Europe/USA), 2 seasons of A Musical Christmas (Germany), Winter Wonderland (Qdos Entertainment), Promo’s for ASOS, International DJ; Scarlett Etienne plus various concept videos and events.

Sandra Bendrik

Sandra trained at The Urdang Academy in London. Her credits whilst training include: Cinderella – Into the Woods and Blanche Ingram – Jane Eyre.

Sandra is thrilled to make her professional debut in the cast of The World of Musicals US tour.

Haydn Cox

Haydn graduated from Trinity Laban with a BA (Hons) degree in Musical Theatre and the Directors Award of Excellence. Recent theatre credits include Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty at the Buxton Opera House. Other theatre credits include: Ricky Sterling – Big Time!, Theatre Royal, Stratford, – Sid Sorokin The Pajama Game!, Stratford Circus, – Seymour The Little Shop of Horrors, Erith Playhouse Theatre, – Tom Accrington Pals, Palace Theatre, – Scripps History Boys, Dixon Theatre.

He is currently recording his self-penned album and has been featured on BBC radio with his single releases. He is currently a composer and lyricist for the feature film musical Esparanza And The Amnesiac written and directed by Steven Forrester. Haydn’s other writing credits include Odette the Musical and new arrangements for When Harry Met Barry. Musical Director credits include live shows for Lloyd Wade’s Soul Man Band and Tui for Sensatori. Recent vocal recording credits include new adaptations for Jungle Book (BB Cooper) and Skin Deep The Musical (Chris Burgess). He can be heard duetting with Amy Booth-Steele and Carly Bawden on Get That Beat recordings and Sally Ann-Triplet for Sleeping Arrangements. His album credits include lead vocals on Marco Selvaggio’s The Eternal Dreamer and theme songs for the movies La Bugia Bianca and Il Migliore Del Monto. Haydn is delighted to be touring the USA in 2019 with The World of Musicals.

Fearghal Curtis

Fearghal is a tenor from Dublin. He has studied at the Conservatory of Music and Drama, D.I.T., Dublin and the Royal Academy of Music, London. He is currently studying with Janice Chapman. He was an Associate Young Artist with Opera Theatre Company in 2012/3 where he performed the roles of Apollo/Sheperd/Ensemble in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo.

Fearghal has continued his relationship with the company regularly performing in operas such as La Boheme, The Rise and Fall of the city of Mahagonny and the chorus for their collaboration with Dublin Arts Festival, Don Giovanni (translated by Roddy Doyle), where he also understudied Don Ottavio. Most recently, he was seen in the ensemble for OTC’s Acis and Galatea, and chorus for Wide Open Opera’s world premiere of a new opera by Enda Walsh and Donnacha Dennedy, The Second Violinist. Fearghal’s credits include Orpheus/Mercury Orpheus and the Underworld (D.I.T), Prologue/u/s Quint The Turn of the screw (D.I.T), Bill A Hand of Bridge (D.I.T), Marco The Gondoliers (Opera in the Open), Pygmalion Pygmalion

(O.I.T.O), Box Cox and Box (O.I.T.O.), Nemorino L’Elisir d’Amore (O.I.T.O), Gherardo Gianni Schicci (Westminster Opera/O.I.T.O.), First Priest Magic Flute (D.I.T./Glasthule Opera), Mercury Castor et Pollox (Yorke Trust Opera), Pastore L’Orfeo (Yorke Trust Opera) and Ruiz Il Trovatore (Lyric Productions). Fearghal is also a keen oratorio singer, most recently performing Zadok Solomon. He has performed tenor solo in works such as Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Charpentier’s Messe di minuit pour Noel, Mendellsohn’s Ave Maria, along with many oratorio chorus’. Upcoming engagements in Taoiseach and Chorus in OTC’s Eithne at the National Concert Hall, Dublin.

Matthew James Duff

Fresh from appearing on the big screen in Mamma Mia 2 Here we go Again, Matthew who is originally from Manchester, trained for 3 years at the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama where he gained a full scholarship. Theatre credits include: Frankies Guys (UK Tour), Understudy Prince in Sleeping Beauty (Theatre Royal Windsor), World of Musicals (Australian Tour). Matthew is looking forward to returning to GFD Promotions, performing in America for the first time!

Amber Sylvia Edwards

Emily Huddleston

Emily is a musical theatre graduate from the Guildford School of Acting, where she performed in Catch Me if You Can, Guys and Dolls and the original performance of Speak Low – a Kurt Weill Revue.

Emily is thrilled to be performing in the United States with The World of Musicals after a very successful run in Germany in 2018.

Hollie Jones

From as young as she can remember, Hollie Jones was always performing. Whether that would be in front of family members in the living room or on stage in front of audiences at her local theatre. After years of carrying on this passion for Musicals, she then decided she would love to pursue a career, where she trained at Scene II Performing Arts Academy.

During her 3 years of training, Hollie performed roles such as: Veronica – Heathers the Musical, Scaramouche – We Will Rock You, Dragon – Shrek The Musical and Hold Me Touch Me – The Producers. Hollie is very excited to be performing in The World of Musicals where she takes her first step after graduating with this incredible shows!

Ciarán Olohan

Ciarán is from County Wicklow, Ireland and trained in Dublin under the tutelage of Philip O’Reilly at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. This year, after performing Off Broadway as a Lead Vocalist and musician in Celtic Nights - Oceans of Hope. Ciarán went on to perform in a Nationwide tour of China as the Lead Vocalist and musician in the highly acclaimed Irish Dance extravaganza, Gaelforce Dance. Kevin is an Actor/Writer/Musician. He is a graduate of the inaugural class of The Lir Academy – Dublin, in association with Trinity College Dublin and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art – London (RADA). He studied singing with Cathal Synnott and movement and physical theatre under Sue Mythen and Bryan Burroughs. Rebekah Shearer

Rebekah was born in Scotland but studied in London at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She recently performed in New York, Off Broadway with Celtic Nights Oceans of Hope.
