111-year old maywood resident celebrated by clerk’s office as cook county’s oldest voter Clerk Karen A Yarbrough made a special presentation of Valentine’s Day treats last month to a Maywood resident who at 111 years old is Cook County’s oldest voter r Yarbrough visited the home of Ms Susie Lewis to commemorate her decades’ love of democracy. “It’s people like Ms. Susie Lewis who help to keep our democracy alive and well,” said Yarbrough. “Over the years, her votes in dozens and dozens of elections have shaped this county. More than 50 local business owners came together at the Melrose Park Senior Center last month for a seminar that provided businesses with strategies on how to access capital for business development, growth, and start-up opportunities. Industry leaders from financial institutions presented as part of a panel discussion focusing on various sources of funding.
