YEAR ROUND CLASSES The Art Experience Year round classes and Art Experiences offer Sedona residents and newcomers alike the chance to explore their creative, artistic instincts in the School of the Arts curriculum. Designed to reach out to all aspiring artists and students – all ages, all levels of learning - with instruction in a variety of mediums. Taking classes on our campus in Uptown Sedona affords residents and members not only the opportunity to explore the arts, but also to meet new neighbors and immerse yourself in the Sedona community. Classes have a membership discount and are offered on an ongoing or year-round basis.

The Art Experience program encourages everyone to become actively engaged in the arts – as an artist or one who simply enjoys art. Our newsletter e-blast and website invite members and non-members alike to participate in exciting art experiences that will be scheduled on an ongoing basis, updated monthly. The events and workshops will typically be half-day or full-day in length, often scheduled on weekends, making them available to everyone. And . . . very affordable. Experiences will be offered in three categories: • Art Appreciation Events - Develop a greater appreciation and deeper understanding of a variety of art forms, mediums, styles, and artists through art excursions, guest speakers, exhibits and more - see the Foundations and Founders of Modern Art below. • Introductory Art Workshops - Take your first step into the world of art - as the artist. Try your hand at a new medium or style. Enjoy one or two-day workshops to test the waters. • Artistic Development Opportunities - The path of the developing artist, from novice to emerging to professional, requires a skill-set not always easily obtained. Let us help you! Learn from those who have walked the path before you through presentations by guest speakers, workshops, open studios and other diverse experiences.

Foundations and Founders of Modern Art Presented by Heather Dies This eight-part lecture series will track the radical innovations and avant-garde experiments of the late 19th century that shaped modern art. Monet, Manet, Seurat and Van Gogh perpetually impacted the art world, and our in-depth analysis of these revolutionary figures will reveal the secrets behind their sensations. Please join us the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 am as we explore the Foundations and Founders of Modern Art. Each Session is $8 or you can register for the entire series of eight classes for $50 (AH1011)
