G MEGHANA BHARATEEYA Bachelor of Architecture

Hi! I am a 4th-year student pursuing architecture in Dayananda Sagar School of architecture. I believe in architecture as an embodiment to relate to people. It is more than just designing a space,it is about creating a correlation between the design and the user. Architecture for me, is all about experience and how one relates to the space. I am a hardworking individual looking forward to learning new and developing personal and professional skills with exposure into the world of architecture

LAURIE BAKER TROPHY- 2020

The way we conduct ourselves in the face of disasters, whether natural/ anthropogenic, local/ global or transient/ enduring continual leaves much to be desired. Self-centeredness, regionalism,s ectarianism, consumerism and the current form of capitalism characterise our civilisation and it has failed humanity amidst crisis. The brief demands a design of a primary health centre, at a backward village or gram panchayat with a population of 10000 to 20000

SITE LOCATION - TN KOTE Backward panchayat under chitradurga district with a population of 16,973, comprising of 6 villages. Under developed areas, with less amenities and a grand traditional culture of village livelihood Families mainly in agriculture, with few working in the nearby towns and cities

Our project focusses on providing maximum facilities to the people in tn kote by trying to meet all their health related concerns . we are also trying to bring about more awareness amongst people and to help them understand the importance of health care. While designing our decisions were completely based on the user and his/her needs. And thus we brought in a psychological impact into our designing process as our aim was to provide the most comfortable and positive atmosphere to whoever walks in.

The approach helped us tap into the mood of whoever enters the center and try to make them feel less pressurized and not burdened by designing a more friendly environment. A positive attitude , a pleasant atmosphere and a well designed space providing all of this is what we aimed at. This makes the healing process better and quick. This can in turn help the people to have a better and healthy life.

Along with the psychological approach in helping the patients, the use of sustainable materials and a vernacular approach to the design, sets the structure in the rural context and ensures that the objective of the PHC is met.
