Teaching in the lifelong learning sector Licence to practise in the lifelong learning sector is conferred by the Institute for Learning (IFL): Teachers and trainers employed from September 2007 to deliver publicly funded provision are required to be members of IFL. They need to achieve Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or Associate Teacher Learning and Skills (ATLS) within five years of appointment
through a process of Professional Formation and Continuous Professional Development (CPD). CPD courses are offered throughout the year and we anticipate scheduling extra courses if demand permits.
