HALL IN TIROL The 700-year-old city, located 10 km east of Innsbruck and was in the Middle Ages much larger and more significant than today‘s state capital Innsbruck. Rich salt deposits made the town flourish as early as the 13th century. When the ducal coin of Meran (South Tyrol) moved here in the 15th century, the importance of the city continued to increase. In Hall the first silver coin (Thaler) was coined, this one Taler by the way, is also eponym of the dollar. The times of silver embossing and salt mining are over is a particularly well preserved, historic city center with numerous sights. The Inn River is home to the largest medieval old town West of Austria at the foot of the Bettelwurfs in the air. Halls Landmark is the Münzerturm (14th / 15th century) with the Burg Hasegg, where the Münzmuseum with the world‘s most unique Roller embossing machine is located. Here, at the „lower town square“ - the gateway to the historic center is located the Haller tradition house „Golden Engl“. Just steps away the „upper town square“ one of the most beautiful town squares in Austria. Worth seeing are the late Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas and the old town hall.

The Hotel Goldener Engl in Hall has a long history and starts already around 1300, when the city wall of Hall was built and expanded. The more as 700-year-old walls testify to it today. Around 1450 there was an extensive Gothic expansion of the house, of which before In particular, the vaulted rooms in the Augustiner Keller have been preserved to this day. As early as 1629, the Gasthof zum goldenen Engl was mentioned and dated Built in 1644 in Baroque style from the ground floor to the roof truss. GOLDEN ROOF, GOLDEN ENGL & GOLDEN BRÖSEL „a tavern classic” The Austrian cuisine shows numerous influences from all Regions of the former k.u.k. Monarchy, especially from Hungary, Czech Republic, and Bohemia, but also from northern Italy and France. Dishes and types of preparation were taken over, integrated and adapted. As an example, here is the so called goulash. Internationally known is the Austrian cuisine especially for their pastries as well as for Tafelspitz and golden baked goods like fried chicken and Wiener schnitzel. In addition there are in between all Budes countries independent regional traditions numerous pan and stew dishes, dumpling variations and thick soups.

AUGUSTINER BRÄU MÜNCHEN By order of the Freisinger Bishop and the Bavarian Duke from 1294 monks of the Augustinian order settled at the gates of Munich.Around 1320, the Augustinian monastery was completed within the city walls. By 1328 at the latest the monks operated a brewery in this monastery. Augustiner is thus the oldest still existing Munich brewery and the oldest Munich trade.
