Michael Bennallack Hart’s work is prized by collectors for its evocation of atmosphere and mastery of composition. He brings to each painting an originality of interpretation and romanticism which is recognised as uniquely his.This love and understanding of landscape began during his childhood in the Weald of Kent and has evolved during his travels in the British Isles, Ireland, Europe and the United States.
Born in 1948, Bennallack Hart studied at Ravensbourne College of Art in London from 1966 to1970, beginning his career designing and illustrating film posters and record sleeves, and painting landscapes and sports scenes. In the ‘70s and ‘80s he worked as an advertising art director and illustrator, winning many awards, while continuing to paint and exhibit at the Spectrum Gallery, New York. His work is held in private, public and corporate collections around the world.
