Wine, Spirits & Brewing

Harvest Spirits

Chatham Brewing Brewed fresh, brewed local, Chatham Brewing’s fine selection of beers are brewed in the British tradition using the finest hops and malts available. These top-fermented ales are unfiltered, giving them a unique, lively character, and are available at many dining establishments in Columbia County. Custom and signature brews are available for special events and restaurants. Growlers and kegs are available at the brewery located just off Main Street, Chatham, and you can see the process if you stop by most Saturdays. 30 Main St, Ste 2, Chatham, 697-0202, www.chathambrewing.com Harvest Spirits The first distillery in New York to offer tastings and retail sale directly out of the distillery, Harvest Spirits has converted one of the massive cold storage rooms at Golden Harvest Farms into the region’s unique micro-distillery. Harvest Spirits makes alcohol from nature’s most perfect fruit, the apple, with apples grown on-site. Apples are grown, pressed, fermented, distilled and bottled at the same location. Come see how this incredible-tasting vodka, applejack and brandy are made. Open Sat & Sun 12-5pm. Golden Harvest Farms 3074 US Rt 9, Valatie, 253-5917, www.harvestspirits.com Hudson-Chatham Winery The Hudson-Chatham Winery is Columbia County’s first winery. Since opening in 2007, its wines have won many awards, including gold medals from the New York State Fair, Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association, New York Food & Wine Classic, and the Dallas Morning News Wine Competition, among others. In the picturesque tasting room, you can also sample a wide range of locally produced gourmet products, including many Hudson Valley cheeses. The winery hosts events throughout the year and is also available for private parties. The Hudson-Chatham Winery is a proud member of the Hudson Berkshire Beverage Trail. 1900 Rt 66, Ghent, 392-WINE (9463), www.hudson-chathamwinery.com Tousey Winery The goal was to produce wines that they would like to drink themselves, “wines that are enjoyed with food just as much as friends.” Success marks their first year with five wines and a cassis sweetened with honey, not sugar. Their Cabernet Franc has been well received by Wine Enthusiast magazine. Tousey Winery is a proud member of the Hudson Berkshire Beverage Trail.
