As consumers enjoyed staycations and entertained in their gardens, Kantar reported a boost in sales of many barbecue essentials, reflecting the popularity and enthusiasm for barbecuing across Ireland. In the 12 weeks to 8 August 2021, Irish consumers spent €7.7 million more on soft drinks, €664,000 more on savoury snacks, and €579,000 extra on chilled burgers and grilling meats.
