Patriot Day — Remembering 9/11 Texas VFW Post 6380, Jasper — The Post

presented a Sept. 11 program on the Jasper County Courthouse Square. Hundreds of members of the community were present as well as three political members from state and national levels. A large acrylic flag was signed by the attendants and presented to the Jasper Historical Museum.

Texas VFW Post 9173, Smeltertown — Texas participated in a flag raising ceremony in honor of 9/11.

Texas VFW Post 6290, Refugio — The Post in conjunction with its local HEB sponsored a 9/11 event in the HEB parking lot. Many community members turned out for the event. There was food and music and a spirit of unity was had by all.

Texas VFW Post 12041, Lytle — The Post sponsored its 5th Annual Freedom Walk on September 10, 2011. This all-day event included food, vendors, music and a sunrise memorial service.
