TEL: Born, raised and currently reside?
DGC: Born and raised in Ossining New York, which is known as Sing Sing City. Reside in the Westchester County area of New York.
TEL: Who or what was your motivation to go into the entertainment business?
DGC: I decided to get into the entertainment industry because I’ve always had a passion for it. Dancing in the Kiss FM Master Mix, appearing in a hair braid magazine, coming in as 4th runner up in Miss New York, and dancing in music videos, I knew there was a place for me in it.
TEL: The first major event, concert, show you attended. What or who was it and what do you remember the most?
DGC: The first concert I’ve attended was Jay Z’s and what I remembered the most was his amazing performance and how he always delivered for his fans and audience. He’s the definition of hip-hop to me.
TEL: Name several of your favorite artists growing up.
DGC: My favorite artist growing up was Slick Rick Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, just to name a few.
TEL: Given your constant exposure to music and entertainment. What changes need to be made in the industry?
DGC: We need old school music to be played on these radio stations on a regular basis. We need them to be in music videos when “new” artist are sampling their music. We need artists to not make it because of who they know but of the talent they have.
TEL: Give us your educational background.
DGC: I have an Associates in Business, Bachelor in Human Services Management, a Master in Business and currently enrolled in a Doctoral Program in Health Administration. I have a Promotions and Marketing company, which was established in 1999 and to date we promote events all over New York and manage artists in the Entertainment Industry. I have always sung in my Church Choir growing up and I have composed so man R& B songs that I sit on today.
TEL: You’ve established, promoted major events over the years but what has been your biggest to date?
DGC: To date my biggest was a Maxwell event at Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
TEL: You’ve also worked with legends in Hip hop, give us some names.
DGC: I’ve worked with Kurtis Blow, Whodini, , Biz Mark, Nice and Smooth, Melly Mel, Drag-On just to name a few and a heap of old school DJ’s and R& B artists.

TEL: Out of the artists you’ve worked with etc, Who was the most inspirational and exciting?
DGC: Kurtis Blow was the most inspirational. I didn’t realize how talented he was until we partnered on some projects. He’s not only a performer but he’s a hell of a writer. He’s a LEO like me so our business relationship we established was effortless.
TEL: Tell us about “4 Real Entertainment” (what is the directive, objective)? 4Real Entertainment is a Promotions Marketing and Management Company. We have promoted events all over and have managed Dj’s and artists in the industry. Our goal is to make certain that any artist we work with gets the recognition he or she deserves, and every venue that we put our name to, is successful!
TEL: What makes “4 Real Entertainment” different from the others?
DGC: What makes us different is you can get noticed under one umbrella in many ways. From a marketing, promotional and management perspective. Also, its passion and spiritual driven not money driven.
TEL: What must an individual know or have before approaching you for services?
DGC: An individual must have determination, positive energy and patience from a management perspective and on a promotional level, motivation, a client roster and the energy to win.
TEL: Tell us a little about your other organization “Keeping Communities Safe”
DGC: “KCS” is a Community Advocacy/Youth Mentoring Agency. Our goal is to see our youth and families on the path of independence. We want them to become self-sufficient and be prepared to tackle all the challenges that life throws at them.
TEL: Your book “Behind Prison Walls” You’ve received great reviews. How’s the book doing over all? (Numbers, exposure, film offers etc)
DGC: The book is doing good, but I want it to do GREAT. I am interested in speaking to women who may be behind a prison wall, which can be a physical, mental, or emotional prison they may be in. I want the world to know, there is a bail bondsman for their prison. I am a walking testimony of once being incarcerated with self.
TEL: You pulled from close and personal experiences. Do you feel that is why the book is doing well?
DGC: The book is doing what God had planned for it to do. I shared my testimony, my truth with the hopes of changing lives.
TEL: Do you plan on writing a follow up box or other books?
DGC: I am working on Part 2 and this Doctoral Program I am in has definitely helped me grow as a writer, so I am excited about writing part 2.
TEL: Away from your businesses. What are your hobbies?
DGC: I love to cook; I love to write and just being a “Momzers” is what my two beautiful daughters call me. When I’m not running my non-profit, promoting events, writing my dissertations or next book, I am cooking for my girls and those who love my food.

TEL: What is your long-term goals in the business or in life?
DGC: I am looking forward to graduating with my PhD soon and then taking Keeping Communities Safe on the road to help others that are in need. I don’t know what’s next for me, but I am going to get excited about “next level living” anyway!
TEL: What advice do you have for new artists, up and coming, etc?
DGC: Any artist that wants to make it in the industry, I say learn the business side of it first. Having great talent is a blessing but knowing how to market yourself to others, the ins and outs of it and the financial aspect of it takes a certain skill set and educational background.
I want to shout out to my children they are my biggest cheerleaders. They motivate me to be great, but more importantly shout out to my Lord and Savior. I trust in HIM.. I know HE didn’t bring me this far to leave me, so my prayer is that he continues to give me direction, keep evil away, and keep me strong as I continue to do what HE has called me to do.
