CARDIFF LIVES
Q&A
S
ean Morrison joined Cardiff City FC back in 2014. He was handed the captain’s armband the following season, and has been leading the team ever since.
So Sean, where in Cardiff do you call home? I’ve been living in Radyr for the past three years, but I’m moving to Creigiau in the next few weeks. It’s a little closer to the training ground. What’s the best thing about living in Cardiff? The city in general! It has lots of restaurants and lots of things to do. I just feel it’s a very good city to live in. What has been the highlight of your career so far? I’d have to say probably this season (2017/18) overall. It has been such a good season so far. We’ve still got quite a way to go but the togetherness within the squad is incredible. Coming into work every day is a pleasure. Who would play you in a film about your life? That is a difficult one – but I think it would have to be a big dog actor. I’d go for Jake Gyllenhaal. What do you never leave home without? My phone. I’m so bad with it. How do you relax? I do enjoy golf – but in phases and I’m not as big on it as I once was. I mostly just chill and home! I like watching TV, going to the cinema, and going out for dinner. What’s your guiltiest pleasure? I’d have to say, probably early 2000 pop music – I’m a big fan of Blue! What are you listening to at the moment? I listen to all types of music – as you’ve just found out. My music taste differs – I like the chart stuff, but I like rock music and punk rock. It changes every day.
What’s your favourite television programme? My favourite ever is probably Sons of Anarchy but at the minute, I’m hooked on Brooklyn Nine Nine. What’s your favourite shop in Cardiff? Reiss – I do like the clothes. Most of the time I’m in town though I’m in a coffee shop.
SEAN MORRISON The Cardiff City FC captain shares his secrets… And your tip for the best place to eat out there? Portuguese restaurant Madeira. Who would you invite to your dream dinner party? Bob Marley and Michael Jackson. Tell us about a secret Cardiff spot we might not be aware of… Customhouse or Pier 64 – the boys talk about these places and they are wonderful. Up in Creigiau – I’d have to say Caesars Arms. Surprise us with a revelatory fact about yourself… I’m a big baby when I don’t get my own way. It looked like you had a lot of fun filming the Cardiff City season ticket video. How did you find the singing experience?

It was a bit daunting really. As a footballer, you don’t really ever get asked to sing along. None of us can sing – let’s be honest. It was good fun though and the video looks great. Do you have a message for the people of Cardiff ahead of the final season run-in and 2018/19 season? I’d just like to say a big thank you for the support. We wouldn’t be doing as well as we are without you. People don’t realise how much the support makes a difference. We need you all more than ever currently with the final push. We look forward to seeing you all at CCS again soon!
