Who are you? We’re highly respected solicitors with two Bath offices, offering specialist advice to corporate and private clients, says Natalie Birrell. What’s special about the way you work? Our feedback proves that we are not like typical lawyers to deal with. Clients say they find us approachable and empathetic, and feel confident that we will go out of our way to meet their needs. We are also very well connected to the communities we serve, through – for instance – our sponsorship and involvement in Bath Boules, the Prince’s Trust charity auction, Bath Rugby Foundation, The Bath Percent Club and Dorothy House Hospice Care, the latest charity to be chosen by our staff as the main beneficiary of fundraising activities. What exciting things have happened at the company over the last year? We achieved our ambition of becoming a UK Top 100 Law Firm, entering the league table for the first time. We were also 45th in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to work for in 2016 – the third year we’ve been ranked – and achieved an ‘outstanding’ two star accreditation for levels of staff engagement. What might we be surprised to learn? Our size! Withy King has grown by 40 per cent over 124 I BATH LIFE I www.mediaclash.co.uk
the last five years, and employs 357 people. We are the biggest law firm in Bath and, while size isn’t everything, it does mean businesses, individuals and their families have access to a wide range of specialist services on their doorstep. We’ve raised over £75k for our chosen charities in the last two years, including £18k for the RUH Forever Friends Appeal. We’re just launching our Summer of Sport for good causes, starting with the Bath Half in March and a 200 mile Bath to Paris cycle ride in April.
