OBITUARIES | Death Notices & Funerals MARTHA BAYNE Martha Maxine Thomas Bayne, 92, of Mechanicsville, died at home peacefully on April 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Henry Bayne. She is survived by her two children, William Henry Bayne Jr. and Beverly McElroy (Pete); three grandchildren, Walter Bayne (Shannon), Scott Bayne and Morgen McElroy; and four great-grandchildren, Keegan and Caroline Bayne and Adelynn Kay and Nora Bayne; plus many much-loved nieces and nephews, other family members and caring friends. She was a retired employee of E.I. DuPont, as well as an avid gardener and devoted member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. A visitation for friends and family was
held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem. Graveside services were held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to FeedMore (feedmore.org), 1415 Rhoadmiller Street, Richmond, VA 23220.

GEORGE CARLSON George Maynard, 85, of Mechanicsville, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015. He is survived by his daughters, Ellen Carlson-Wells, and her husband, Michael B. Wells, of Chesterton, Indiana, and Cynthia Carlson Lobou of Henrico; former sonin-law, Mitchell N. Lobou; a son, George Michael Carlson of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, Eric Michael Carlson of Columbus, Ohio, and Alan Mitchell Lobou of Henrico.
Hugh Garland Childress, 89, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond. He was born October 26, 1925, in Charlotte County, a son of the late William Edward Childress and Gracie Trent Childress. He was of Methodist faith, a U.S. Army veteran and a former employee of Associated Transport. He is survived by one son, Larry Childress (Debbie) of Amelia; see OBITUARIES, pg. 12
