Vial and Benson united in marriage

Saturday, June 7 Epworth United Methodist Church will host their second flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, which is located at 11 Epworth Road in Aylett, or the corner of Route 30 and Epworth Road. Spaces, which will be 10-by-10-foot, will be available to rent for $10. If you have homemade crafts, yard sale items or are a vendor of products like Pampered Chef, Scentsy or Tupperware and would like to set up shop, call Gertrude Pitts at 769-2175. Organizers promise plenty of good bargains. Sausage biscuits will be sold for breakfast with free coffee. Hot dogs and cold drinks will be sold for lunch, and the Missions ministry will be having a bake sale. Ashland Strawberry Faire will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Randolph-Macon College. r. and Mrs. J. Michael Phelps of Mechanicsville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Michelle Phelps, to Jason Thomas LaFlame, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher T. LaFlame of Mechanicsville. The bride to be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Herbert C. Byrum, Jr. of Hampstead, N.C. and the late Mr. Byrum and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carroll R. Wilson formerly of Richmond, Va. The groom to be is the grandson of Mrs. John R. Yarbrough and the late Mr.
Yarbrough and Ms. Evelyn M. Spindler and Mr. James H. Mitchell all of Mechanicsville. Jessica is a 2004 graduate of Lee Davis High School and a 2008 graduate of James Madison University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree. She also received a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from James Madison University in 2009. Jason is a 1997 graduate of Atlee High School and a graduate of J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College where he received a Certificate in Diesel Technology. A November 2014 wedding is planned.

he marriage of Miss Brittany Leigh-Anne Vial, daughter of Rick and Kimberly Vial of Mechanicsville, Virginia, to Mr. Bowman Jeffrey Benson, son of Jeffrey and Debbie Benson of Blythewood, South Carolina, took place on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at historic North Bend Plantation in Charles City, Virginia. The
Reverend Jeffrey Benson, father of the groom officiated, assisted by Dr. Jack Dinsbeer, grandfather of the groom. Brittany and Bowman are 2012 graduates of Liberty University, where they met on graduation day. After their honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Blythewood, SC.
The American Red Cross, Web of Hope welcomes all who would like to learn to knit or crochet at their monthly meeting that will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Black Creek Baptist Church located at 6289 McClellan Road in Mechanicsville.
