Local dealer attends Kubota meeting; new products unveiled Representatives from Cavalier International Inc. of Ashland recently attended Kubota Tractor Corporation’s 2011 National Dealer Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, and had the chance to get an exclusive look at the latest Kubota product introductions and innovations across all lines of Kubota tractors, construction equipment, utility vehicles, and lawn and garden equipment. More than 1,000 Kubota
dealers from across the country convened to receive a first look at the new product enhancements, featuring Kubota’s new M135GX MSeries ag and utility tractor that includes Kubota’s roomiest tractor cab ever. Kubota’s “Growing into the Future Together” theme recognized the company’s dealers for their contributions to the company and their involvement with its overall growth and success.
Specialty Coating wraps up acquisition Barricade Building Products, a division of Specialty Coating & Laminating LLC of Doswell, completed the acquisition of Berry Plastics’ housewrap division on Nov. 1. The company expects to add 15 to 20 new jobs by March 2012, and anticipates that the building products division will expand significantly in the future with the addition of new products for their customers. SC&L was formed in 2010 by local investment banking firm Smither & Company Capital Markets and several key executives, including president
& CEO Geoff Baldwin, CFO Bill Berry and vice president of Operations Rick Ganzert, to acquire the 220,000-square-foot production facility and 18 acres that had been slated for closure by Berry Plastics.
