Thomas Bendle Jr. announced to world LINDSEY BROOKE CARTER and ANDREW EVANS LEAKE
Ms. Lindsey Brooke Carter of Ashland and Dr. Andrew Evans Leake of Mechanicsville were married May 1, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. The wedding was officiated by Reverend Lynn Turner. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Holmes and Mr. and Mrs. William Randolph Carter. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Carter and Mrs. Priscilla Wrede. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bryan Leake. He is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Leake and the late Curtis Leake and Mrs. Jean Stevens and the late Richard Stevens. The matron of honor was Ashley Anderson, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Emily Leake, sister of the groom, Elana Aronovici and Stephanie Waddell, friends of the bride. Junior Bridesmaids were Addie Holmes, Julia Holmes and Finley Miers, nieces of the bride. The best man was Curtis
Leake, twin brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Nat Palmer, Scott Schmeissing, Chad Held, friends of the groom and Jake Carter, brother of the bride. Blake Miers and James Holmes, III, nephews of the bride served as ring bearers. The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at La Grotta Ristorante in Richmond, VA. A reception followed at The Commonwealth Club in Richmond, VA. The bride and groom met over ten years ago at Atlee High School in Mechanicsville, VA. The bride graduated cum laude from Hollins University as a business and dance major. The groom graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech in nutrition and recently completed medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple will be moving to Pittsburgh, PA with their dog Bruno.

Alvis-Thurston marry in church ceremony Bob and Debbie Alvis of Mechanicsville proudly announce the marriage of their daughter, Blair Adrian to John Wesley Thurston IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Thurston III of Manakin Sabot. The wedding and reception took place at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond on March 13, 2010. The bridesmaids in attendance were Sarah Wright, friend of the bride, Kelly Singleton, sister of the groom and Heather Woods, matron of honor and best friend. The flower girls were C.C. and Kyla Murphy, friends of the bride. The groomsmen in attendance were Grant Alvis, brother of the
bride, Steven Singleton, brother in-law of the groom and John Thurston father of the groom served as Best Man. Ushers were Eric and Shawn Dalton, cousins of the bride and Blake Ellett, cousin of the groom. The ring bearers were Michael and Andrew Murphy, godsons of the bride. Blair is a 2005 graduate of LeeDavis High School and a 2009 graduate of VCU/MCV School of Nursing. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Tucker High School and a 2009 graduate of VCU School of Business. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia the couple will live in Glenn Allen.
Tom and Michelle Bendle of Mechanicsville are proud to announce the birth of their son Thomas Jennings Bendle Jr. (Tommy). He was born May 5, 2010 at 3:03 p.m. at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital. He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and was 21 inches long. He was welcomed home by his two big brothers Travis and Matthew and his three big sisters Mariah, Sarah and Katie. Proud Grandparents are Donna and Wayne Geer of New Kent, Wanda Stephens of Mechanicsville, Billy Bendle of Mathew’s and Thomas Jones of Warsaw. Proud Great Grandparents are Edith Hatcher of Henrico, Elizabeth Bendle of
Henrico and Edward and Dorothea Mae Stephens of Mechanicsville. He was also welcomed home by his Aunts and Uncles; Bill and Mitze Bendle of Henrico, Craig and Barbara Bendle of Henrico, Lee and Tracy Bendle of New Kent, Uncle Dwight Bendle of Henrico, and Ginger and Alan Edwards of Mechanicsville. The family would like to thank Kim Lewis at Captured Photography for her amazing photography talent and Dr. Leemore Burke, her wonderful staff and the wonderful Nurses at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital for their Excellent Care of Mom and baby.
