Hanover Humane Society will hold a veterinary Wellness Clinic at its facility at 12190 Washington Highway in Ashland. The clinic provides routine vaccines, heartworm testing, and other preventive services. The clinic does not treat sick or injured animals. Thursday, April 22 The Lee Davis High School Class of 1990 will hold a Silent Auction / Fundraiser at Gus’ Italian Café, Bell Creek Road, Mechanicsville from 6:30–9 p.m. The event is open to the public and fellow LD alum from other graduating classes. Hanover Pump It Up. This is a community fundraiser; all proceeds will benefit the Autism Society. Pump It Up has donated their facility and employees for the evening and is arranging free pizza for the event. The Autism Society, Central VA is providing additional refreshments, fundraising incentives and volunteers. Please register at www.bounceforautism.org today! The Autism Society’s mission is to improve the lives of all affected by autism. We do this by increasing public awareness about the day-today issues faced by people on the spectrum, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the life span, and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education, research and advocacy.

Friday, April 23 A fundraiser will be held at Winn’s Baptist Church at 7 p.m. The fundraiser will be to help with the medical expenses for Vincent Tickle, an 11 year old young man who has a rare type of cancer, Metastatic Malignant Thyroid/Soft Tissue Endocrine. Vincent and his mom, Jayme, travel to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas for treatment. Donating their time and ministering to us with their music will be The Coachmen, Homeward Bound, Vickie Lynn Bruce, Lifting Spirits and testimony and songs by Jayme Tickle. TheNewHanoverJuBELLees, the adult handbell choir of New Hanover Presbyterian Church, will offer a concert beginning at 4 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The event is free and open to the public. Using 31/2 octaves of English handbells and 3 octaves of handchimes, the JuBELLees play both traditional and contemporary worship music, as well as original handbell compositions and well-known music adapted for handbells. The Ensemble, a smaller group of ringers who enjoy the challenge of playing multiple bells, will also perform during the JuBELLees concert. In addition to the handbells, the program will feature singers and musicians from the church’s Praise Team and Chancel Choir, pianist/vocalist Emily O’Brien, harpist Jan Dowdell and percussionist Don Guthrie.
