2011 Hanover Legislative Reception

The Greater Richmond Chamber and the Hanover Association of Businesses and Chamber of Commerce joined on Tuesday, March 22, in presenting the 2011 Hanover Legislative Reception at the Richmond Times-Dispatch Atlee Station location in Mechanicsville. The event was hosted by Owens & Minor. Among those attending were, photo above, Robert Setliff, left, Chickahominy District representative on the Hanover County Board of Supervisors, and Del. John Cox, R-55.

At-large laws for dogs go into eect April 1 Every year, beginning April 1 through June 30, it is unlawful for dogs anywhere in Hanover County to be running off their property without being leashed. The county’s “leash lawâ€? applies throughout the year in the suburban area. Between April 1 and June 30, it is extended to the rural areas as well because the births of vulnerable livestock, such as baby lambs and calves, tend to take place during this period. Wildlife activity and rabies cases also generally increase in the April 1 through June 30 time frame. Any dogs caught running off their owner’s property will be see DOGS, pg. 19 `
