Talent show sign-up under way

The Mechanicsville Local

January 5, 2011

It’s time to sign up for the 2011 version of “Ashland’s Got Talent — the Ashland Musical Variety Show.” All from age kindergarten and up can sign up to participate in the always-entertaining Ashland show that has been performed by a cast of more than 350 folks from all over the area since 1982. Sponsored by the Hanover Arts & Activities Center, this year’s show promises to be short, fun and funny — especially for those who rehearse together for weeks until show time, which is March 24, 25 and 26. “As always, we hope to have even more folks to celebrate our community with enjoyable rehearsals and performances together. We appreciate all of the impressive talent in our midst, and we hope to showcase all levels of talent, making everyone feel good about his or her moment in the spotlight. Talent, however, is not required. We look forward to all of the good-spirited and generous

folks who will participate in this year’s show,” how producers/directors Lorie Foley and Sue Watson said. “Every year people say to us ‘How can I get involved?” they added. Now is the time to sign up to become involved in the unique and exciting community experience. Sign-up is available — first time ever — online at www. hanoverarts.org. Paper sign-up forms also are available at the following locations: Cross Brothers, Ashland Library, Bart’s Station Café, Ashland Coffee and Tea, Hanover Arts & Activities Center at 500 S. Center St. in Ashland or at www.TownHound.com. The only talent required is a smile and a desire to have fun together. Sign-up forms are due by Wednesday, Jan. 12, you can register online by Jan. 12 or mail your paper registration to HAAC, PO Box 486, Ashland, VA 23005 or drop it off at the
