Inside look: School Board continues tours tradition

or more than a decade, the Hanover County Public School Board has hosted a two-day tour that gives the School Board, citizens and government employees an inside look at the 23 public schools within Hanover County. During the tours, these visitors get a firsthand look at the instructional offerings, technological opportunities and creative learning activities that Hanover students experience on a daily basis. This year, the first tour was on Oct. 14 and included the following western area schools: John M. Gandy Elementary School, Henry Clay Elementary School, Elmont Elementary School, South Anna Elementary School, Beaverdam Elementary School, Patrick Henry High School, Liberty Middle School, Oak Knoll Middle School, Hanover High School, Kersey Creek Elementary School, The Georgetown School and The Hanover Center for Trades and Technology. The second tour was conducted on Oct. 17 and focused on eastern area schools that included the following: Rural Point Elementary School, WashingtonHenry Elementary School, Mechanicsville Elementary School, Cold Harbor Elementary School, Battlefield Park Elementary School,
