‫(كتيب مبادرة شجرة لكل بيت)‬

‫ما هي مبادرة شجرة لكل بيت؟‬ ‫كبيرا في سلطنة‬ ‫اكتسبت عمليات التحضر زخ ًما‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عمان منذ الطفرة النفطية في السبعينيات‪ .‬بتطبيق‬ ‫نظام السحب العشوائي لألراضي ‪ ،‬سهلت‬ ‫الحكومة لمواطنيها الحصول على أراضي‬ ‫خاصة بهم‪ .‬وبالتالي يركز التحضر السريع على‬ ‫تطوير البنية التحتية على مستوى المدينة ‪ ،‬وهو‬ ‫األمر الذي يتيح المجال لسكان الحي لتطوير‬ ‫أحيائهم بأنفسهم ‪ .‬التحضر الذاتي (أو ما يُعرف بـ‬ ‫‪ )DIY Urbanism‬هو فكرة حيث يمكن ألفراد‬ ‫الحي أن يساهموا ويكونوا مسؤولين عن إنشاء‬ ‫مساحات آمنة وصالحة للعيش في أحيائهم مما‬ ‫يعزز المساحات العامة الخاصة بهم‪ .‬باستخدام‬ ‫مواد محلية منخفضة التكلفة وسهلة اإلستخدام‬ ‫‪ ،‬فإن مبادرة سكان الحي وإن كانت ببداية‬ ‫متواضعة قد تنطوي على إمكانية تنفيذ مبادرات‬ ‫أكبر وبشكل أسرع مستقبالً‪ .‬وعلى هذا النهج‬ ‫فإن مبادرة شجرة لكل بيت تهدف إلى أن تكون‬ ‫واحدة من هذه المبادرات‪.‬‬

‫البيوت مناطق لعبهم في المساء‪ .‬كما يتجمع‬ ‫الرجال في بعض هذه األماكن قبل أو بعد الصالة‬ ‫لتبادل الحديث مع الجيران‪ .‬وكذلك يظهر سلوك‬ ‫مشابه على النساء وكبار السن ‪ ،‬حيث يحتسون‬ ‫الشاي في بعض األحيان ‪ ،‬أو يتبادلون الحديث‬ ‫عندما يعودون من متاجر البقالة في الحي‪.‬‬ ‫ومع ذلك ‪ ،‬فإن غياب عناصر فرش الشوارع‬ ‫يجعل هذه اللقاءات قصيرة وبسيطة‪ .‬في حين‬ ‫أن األنشطة الضرورية ال تزال قائمة ‪ ،‬تبدو‬ ‫األنشطة اإلجتماعية نوعا ً ما مقيدة ‪ ،‬على الرغم‬ ‫من أن هذه المساحات لها إمكانيات عالية لتعزيز‬ ‫التفاعل االجتماعي‪.‬‬ ‫تهدف مبادرة شجرة لكل بيت إلى معالجة‬ ‫احتياجات السكان التي تم التطرق إليها في الفقرة‬ ‫السابقة وهي كاآلتي‪ :‬الحاجة إلى ممرات مظللة‬ ‫وأماكن عامة نشطة‪.‬‬ ‫لكل مقيم في الحي الحق في المساحات أمام‬ ‫منازلهم ‪ ،‬وبالتالي تهدف مبادرة شجرة لكل بيت‬ ‫إلى تحويل هذه المساحات المتبقية بشكل جماعي‬ ‫إلى نقاط تجمع نشطة في الحي‪ .‬هذه المبادرة‬ ‫تشجع كل أسرة أن تبادر بزراعة شجرة واحدة‬ ‫أمام بيتها ‪ ،‬أي على ممر المشاة وتتكفل كل أسرة‬ ‫باالعتناء بهذه الشجرة‪ .‬هذه المبادرة قابلة للنمو‬ ‫والتوسع بسهولة وتعتمد بشكل كبير على حافز‬ ‫المقيمين في الحي‪ .‬كما لديها القدرة على تحويل‬

‫حركة المرور الخفيفة داخل األحياء ‪ ،‬األطفال‬ ‫غالبًا ما يجعلون هذه المساحات المتبقية أمام‬

‫مسارات المشاة في الحي إلى ممرات مظللة‬ ‫ومساحات اجتماعية نشطة‬

‫من نحن؟‬ ‫تأسست ‪( MCTspaceLab‬وتعني‬ ‫بالعربية مختبر الفضاءات في مسقط)‬ ‫في شهر يوليو عام ‪ ٢٠١٨‬كمنصة رقمية‬ ‫تستهدف الشباب المفكرين والباحثين‬ ‫والمحاضرين والطالب حيث يمكنهم‬ ‫طرح األفكار والتجارب والمعلومات حول‬ ‫تطوير النسيج الحضري والمساحات‬ ‫العامة في محافظة مسقط‪ .‬تهدف المنصة‬ ‫إلى إيجاد وتنمية أفكار مبتكرة و عملية‬ ‫لفضاءات حضرية أكثر إستدامةً وتتركز‬ ‫حول اإلنسان والتي تؤدي إلى تمكين‬ ‫المواطنين في مسقط‪.‬‬

About MCTspacelab MCTspaceLab was established in October 2017 as a platform targeting young scientists, researchers, students and lecturers to share their impressions, knowledge and practical experience on the development of the city’s urban fabric and public spaces within the city of Muscat. The platform aims towards developing innovative and practical ideas of a more sustainable and human-centered urban space in Muscat that empowers the citizens. Furthermore, MCTspaceLab works with the communities with various participatory tools. We aim to give the citizens a voice to not only express their needs but also be actively involved in the development process. About Tree per

house initiative

Urbanization processes have taken momentum exponentially in the Sultanate of Oman since the 1970s. With the land lottery system, the government has provided easier access to land ownership to their citizens. Rapid urbanization is thus tackled by authorities through provision of larger infrastructural development within city level whilst the smaller “urban living rooms” at the neighborhood level remain concerns for the residents to tackle. Hitherto, the Sultanate has been operating primarily with modes of top-down planning approaches following contemporary planning systems. However, as the population density in the capital city of Muscat starts to rise in the last decade, a need for incorporating bottom-up planning mode is evident. The two primary defining elements in a streetscape within a neighborhood in Muscat is the individual plot boundary that is privately owned followed by the street network, a space that is provided and regulated by the local municipality. Connecting those two well defined spaces, is a buffer space. This buffer zone is built

and regulated by the individual plots, but serves as a semi-public space that is owned by the municipality. Building on this, the Tree per House Initiative (TpHI) identifies and seizes to optimise these semi-public spaces within neighborhoods. TpHI uses the concept of ‘Tactical Urbanism’ also referred to as DIY Urbanism, where residents have the potential of creating liveable spaces in order to enhance their own public space. With low-cost, easy to use local materials, residents’ initiative starting as small-scale temporary interventions, holds the potential to quickly scale up to permanent long-term changes to the neighbourhood fabric. TpHI focuses on the individual households’ acts to achieve a collective goal, through planting a tree in front of their property for the walking pedestrians within the community. In turn taking the responsibility to maintain it. The initiative is easily scalable and relies highly on the motivation of residents. It holds the potential to turn pedestrian pathways in neighbourhoods that are shaded and develop into vibrant social spaces.

Prepare mixture and pour into the mould

Get 2 different sized moulds

Dry well, and remove mould

Cut each part into half

Cut the wooden pallet into 3 parts

Nail four pieces together with a hammer to make planter
