The primary role of a Marketing Sales Representative is to help marketers at small to medium-sized businesses meet their goals by growing revenue for both their company and ours. She or he does this by working with local companies to map out their sales funnel and offer the right media products to provide them with advertising to the right customer, at the right time, in the right place. We learn about customer needs, co-develop campaigns to meet those needs, execute creative graphics to achieve results and optimize delivery to ensure success. A Media Sales Representative develops and presents multimedia sales campaigns to meet the diversified needs of our customers and maximize customer ROI.
• Develops and demonstrates expert knowledge and understanding of all
McNaughton Media sales and marketing assets, including all newspaper products, digital products and digital marketing services such as SEO and SEM. • Represent and embrace new, non-traditional products and services that the company may introduce as we look to diversify new revenue streams that capitalize on our customer base and local scale. • Effectively communicates with sales management to provide accurate revenue forecasts and market intelligence. • Cold calls previous customers and new companies to book meetings to assess their needs and showcase our capabilities. • Maintains the highest levels of personal and professional behavior in the workplace and in the market. • Drives customer retention through excellent customer service.
Position Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Knowledge of competitive media and marketing landscape; use for new business development and sales analysis.
• Ability to prospect new business via cold calling and other prospecting techniques including social media where applicable
• Highly motivated, self-starting individual with initiative and drive to succeed • Ability to close new business and exceed sales targets • Understands that it takes “no’s” to get to “yes.” • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and deliver effective presentations to different experience levels.
• Strong networking and community involvement. • Eagerness to learn, continually seeking to improve. • Strong time management and follow-up skills. • Organized with an attention to detail. • Must possess a valid state driver’s license, cell phone and reliable transportation.
Education & Experience: • B.A. preferred, but not required, depending on experience. • A minimum of one year of sales experience, preferably in outside sales, is
required. (Media sales not required, but some sales experience is a must.)
• Prior experience in digital marketing is highly desirable.
