Lynda J. Parker

Lynda Jane Parker passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday, Nov. 5. Lynda was born Jan. 5, 1938. She was the eldest of three children born to Charles and Juanita Parker. She is survived by her brother David Parker of Oregon, his wife Connie and their family, as well as her brother Alan Parker of New Zealand, his wife Ailsa and their family. Lynda grew up in West Pittsburg, Calif. She was a graduate of both Mount Diablo High School in Concord, Calif, as well as California State University, San Francisco. She also attended California State University, Sacramento, earning her master’s degree in psychology. Lynda was a longtime resident of El Dorado County with many friends in the area. She first moved to Placerville in 1972. She worked for the county as a law clerk for the Honorable Lloyd Hamilton, Superior Court Judge until he retired. Lynda then began a career in social services. She worked at New Morning Youth and Family Services located in Placerville as a therapist for many years. She loved working with children. Lynda has always been active in El Dorado County. She was an accomplished violinist. She was a past president of the Sierra Symphony as well as an active member of Mother Lode Friends of Music. Lynda had a great love of animals. She opened her home as well as her ranch through the years to animals who needed to be rescued. Lynda was an independent spirit with a love of travel and culture. She was much admired and loved by her entire family and we will miss her dearly. A private family service will be held at a later date. Put on by El Dorado County Animal Services and the local Humane Society with the help of a donation from Petco LOVE, more than 300 pets were vaccinated and microchipped. The free clinic returns this Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Animal Services shelter located at 6435 Capitol Ave. in Diamond Springs, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Services are offered first-come, first-served.

1:38 p.m. Burglary was reported on Pincham Creek Drive in Rescue.

3 p.m. Grand theft was reported at the Auto Zone on Golden Center Drive in Placerville.

5:46 p.m. A 51-year-old man who was causing a disturbance and found to have a warrant out for his arrest was taken into custody on Broadway.

10:41 p.m. A 24-year-old man who was reportedly “very intoxicated” and got behind the wheel of his vehicle on Main Street was arrested.

4:21 p.m. A 27-year-old man was arrested on Reservoir Street for reportedly being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Nov. 7

1:55 a.m. A 25-year-old man who was a passenger of a vehicle stopped on Placerville Drive on a traffic violation was found to have a felony warrant out for his arrest and in posession of metal knuckles. He was booked into El Dorado County Jail. 11:16 a.m. A 26-year-old man who attempted to cash a fraudulent check was arrested on Placerville Drive. A search of his vehicle found him to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia as well as an additional fraudulent check.

Nov. 6 12:28 a.m. A 53-year-old man driving a vehicle with expired registration was arrested on Placerville Drive after attempting to flee from officers. 3:45 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen at an apartment complex on Cold Springs Road. 10:20 p.m. A 65-year-old woman was arrested on Main Street on assault charges after battery was reported near a local bar.

5:56 p.m. Battery was reported in front of a business on Broadway. 6:59 p.m. A 39-year-old man who was reportedly under the influence of a controlled substance and refused to leave a business on Forni Road was taken into custody.

Nov. 9 11:57 a.m. A male suspect poured coffee on a victim on Main Street. 10:28 p.m. A 63-year-old man was arrested on Broadway on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Nov. 10 7:38 a.m. A 24-year-old male transient was arrested on assault charges after he inappropriately touched a woman shopping at the Save Mart on Broadway. 9:21 a.m. A 34-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting on Placerville Drive.
