Good times coming to Miraflores Winery
Mimi Escabar Special Sections Editor
Mirafl ores Winery o ers its highly acclaimed Pairings Lunches and Brunch & Bubbles events this summer.
For nearly a decade the El Dorado County winery has hosted an array of accomplished guest chefs who prepare creatively executed four-course menus, exquisitely paired with Mirafl ores wines chosen by the wineries on-site sommelier.
A recent addition, Brunch & Bubbles, has been added to the culinary program, o ered the fi rst weekends of July, August and September. This unique event features four courses of culinary brunch delights from chef Tara Martinez paired with handcrafted specialty mimosas that enhance each dish.
These summer events are held outdoors on the shaded terrace overlooking Mirafl ores estate vineyards.
The fi rst Brunch & Bubbles of the season, July 2 & 3, will have a Latin fl air. Opening with a breakfast taco salad with potatoes, breakfast sausage, pickled onion, jalapeño, cilantro and cabbage it will be paired with a lime-coriander mimosa. The eggs Benedict on sopas with shredded pork and Tara’s famous hollandaise will be paired with a jalapeño mimosa. The Mexican chocolate pot de crème with a shortbread cookie is paired with Mirafl ores “Gabriel” mimosa and Martinez’ freshly baked cinnamon roll goes with a “Creamsicle” mimosa.
Each mimosa is handcrafted by Martinez, using Mirafl ores sparkling wine and a variety of fresh juices, fruit, herbs and spices.
Martinez is a seasoned member of the Mirafl ores culinary team. Taking her experience from Michelin Plate-awarded Sacramento brunch restaurant Bacon & Butter, she and Ashlee Cuneo, Mirafl ores’ general manager, spearheaded the one-ofa-kind Brunch & Bubbles events that are now an annual fi xture.
The chef followed her talent and passion for cooking and attended the Art Institute of California in Sacramento and then worked in the heart of the Sacramento restaurant scene, at wellknown establishments such as Pangaea, Bacon & Butter, Formoli’s Bistro, Ganassi (IndyCar) and Rossi Catering.
She is excited to have recently opened her own brick and mortar catering business in Tahoe Park, Shef Madre.
