Welcome Back to the 2nd Semester at the "The Land of the Knights"! Parents/Guardians, as we reach the midpoint of the year, it is crucial that we finish STRONG! I trust this message finds you and your family in good health. As we begin the second semester, I want to highlight two essential aspects that will contribute to your child's successful academic journey. Punctuality is Key: regular attendance plays a pivotal role in your child's success. Kindly ensure that your student attends all classes promptly. If you encounter any concerns or obstacles, do not hesitate to reach out to the school for assistance. Remember that students must be in attendance 90% of the time instruction is offered to receive credit for their classes. Focus on Academics: entering the second semester, encourage your child to maintain a strong focus on their academic goals. Ensure your child turns in all assignments when they are due. Our library’s Literary Club hosted their annual “Grinchmas Breakfast!” They’ve also started their next novel The Hunger Games. Science Department
January 2024/Vol. 03
Last December, all physics students participated in a popsicle-bridge building contest. The winning group was comprised by Brianna Garza and Mellanny Rivas. Their bridge withstood almost 500 times its own weight! Second place was Robert Lemons, Victoria Garcia, and Lael Gonzalez. The third place group consisted of Vianney Vasquez, Ximena BienAime, Esperanza Escobar and Connie Marroquin. All students had a blast and only popsicle sticks were harmed in the process.
ELA Department
Our English department is selling water to raise funds for prom, let’s support our seniors and make their prom a great one! ELA benchmark results are in and we’re so proud of the great work shown! ELA Friday Academies will start soon. There will also be a dance in February hosted by the department. Photo on the right: outdoor writing activity!
Math Department
Our Math department is sharing some fantastic news! They have 100% passing rate for all Algebra students who took the end of course exam last year! Kudos Knights! Also, they’ll like to remind of the following UIL events practice schedule : UIL number sense meets Mondays after school, and UIL Calculator meets Tuesdays after school. For Math TSI Resources, please see your math teacher.
Social Studies Department
Our Social Studies department is thrilled to announce that they have 100% passing rate on the end of course exam in US History! Thank you MCHS Social Studies Department for collectively working with our Knights and achieving incredible results!
CTE Department
Electives Department
Outdoor Adventure class is learning all about camping as part of their curriculum. Our Knights have been having fun learning how to set up tents and becoming wilderness savvy. Also, muchisimas GRACIAS to our Spanish teacher, Mrs. Pineda (pictured below), for translating our newsletters!
Our Medical Assistant students have been busy practicing and performing basic health skills. Our BIM I “Wall of Fame” for Word Expert Certifications consists of: Aeryn Bautista, Juliet Suarez, Katelyn Lopez, Daniel Cardenas-Martinez, Galilea Hernandez, Kayla Cruz, Adrian Carmona, Valeria Santiago, Jonathan Moreno, Monica Garcia, Alexa Rodriguez, Hector Del Angel Hernandez, Andrea Alaniz, Chantal Garza, Ethan Hernandez, Frida Lopez, Brandon Soliz, Carlene Enriquez, Brisia Rico, Aria Gomez, Francis Mejia, Corina Salinas Romero, and Stephany Sanchez. Kudos! Also, our robotics team, the Electroknights, are starting their FRC season and they finished building their swerve chasis!

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo al segundo semestre en "The Land of the Knights"! Padres/tutores, a medida que llegamos a la mitad del año, ¡es crucial que terminemos FUERTES! Confío en que este mensaje los encuentre a usted y a su familia con buena salud. Al comenzar el segundo semestre, quiero resaltar dos aspectos esenciales que contribuirán al éxito académico de su hijo. La puntualidad es clave: la asistencia regular juega un papel fundamental en el éxito de su hijo. Por favor asegúrese de que su estudiante asista a todas las clases puntualmente. Si tiene alguna inquietud u obstáculo, no dude en comunicarse con la escuela para obtener ayuda. Recuerde que los estudiantes deben asistir el 90% del tiempo que se ofrece instrucción para recibir crédito por sus clases. Departamento de Ciencias
En diciembre pasado, todos los estudiantes de física participaron en un concurso de construcción de puentes de paletas. El grupo ganador estuvo compuesto por Brianna Garza y Mellanny Rivas. ¡Su puente resistió casi 500 veces su propio peso! El segundo lugar fue para Robert Lemons, Victoria García y Lael González. El grupo del tercer lugar estuvo formado por Vianney Vásquez, Ximena BienAime, Esperanza Escobar y Connie Marroquín. Todos los estudiantes se divirtieron muchísimo y sólo los palitos de helado resultaron dañados en el proceso.
Departamento de ELA Todos los profesores de inglés venden agua para recaudar fondos para el baile de graduación. Los resultados de los examenes preliminares (Benchmark en inglés) han sido excelentes. Habrá un baile en febrero. Las Academias ELA comenzarán. El primero será en enero 19. También hicimos una actividad de escritura gratuita al aire libre.
Departamento de Matematicas
¡Nuestro departamento de Matemáticas está compartiendo fantásticas noticias! ¡Tienen una tasa de aprobación del 100% para todos los estudiantes de Álgebra que tomaron el examen de fin de curso el año pasado! Felicitaciones Caballeros! Además, les gustaría recordarles el siguiente cronograma de práctica de eventos de UIL: el sentido numérico de UIL se reúne los lunes después de la escuela y la calculadora de UIL se reúne los martes después de la escuela. Para obtener recursos de Math TSI, consulte a su maestro de matemáticas.
Departamento de Estudios Sociales
¡Nuestro departamento de Estudios Sociales se complace en anunciar que tienen una tasa de aprobación del 100 % en el examen de fin de curso de Historia de EE. UU.! ¡Gracias Departamento de Estudios Sociales de MCHS por trabajar colectivamente con nuestros Caballeros y lograr resultados increíbles!

La clase de Aventura al aire libre está aprendiendo todo sobre acampar como parte de su plan de estudios. Nuestros Caballeros se han divertido aprendiendo a montar tiendas de campaña y adquiriendo conocimientos sobre la naturaleza. Además, muchas GRACIAS a nuestra profesora de español, la Sra. Pineda (en la foto de abajo), por traducir nuestros boletines.
Nuestros estudiantes de Asistente Médico han estado ocupados practicando y realizando habilidades básicas de salud. Nuestro “Muro de la Fama” BIM I para Certificaciones de Expertos en Word está formado por: Aeryn Bautista, Juliet Suarez, Katelyn Lopez, Daniel Cardenas-Martinez, Galilea Hernandez, Kayla Cruz, Adrian Carmona, Valeria Santiago, Jonathan Moreno, Mónica García, Alexa Rodriguez, Héctor Del Ángel Hernández, Andrea Alaniz, Chantal Garza, Ethan Hernández, Frida López, Brandon Soliz, Carlene Enríquez, Brisia Rico, Aria Gómez, Francis Mejía, Corina Salinas Romero y Stephany Sánchez. ¡Prestigio! Además, nuestro equipo de robótica, los Electroknights, están comenzando su temporada de FRC y terminaron de construir su chasis de viraje.
