One brilliant solution for two different two-wheeled worlds: Just in the twinkling of an eye, MERIDA’s very own “Modular” Head technology turns your comfortable triathlon bike into an elegant and racy aero machine which convinces also through top handling on road-racer level.

Different demands always call for different solutions – at least in theoretical terms. But when the MERIDA R&D specialists ask themselves if a triathlon bike for everyone and a high-end racing machine are able to share enough convincing features to unite both cycling worlds, the answer is “yes”. Of course against the background of our development experts’ technological know-how and their own long-term experience in the different disciplines. Depending on the route you want to tackle or whether you have absolved the first 1.000 km of your life or the first 1.000 km of your second training camp: In a triathlete’s everyday life, many factors influence the question for the ideal position on the bike. The “lower” you cycle, the smaller is your drag against the headwind while pedalling becomes respectively more exhausting – standard routine for pro athletes but, especially on longer routes, almost impossible for less-trained riders. Generally, the front section designs of such bikes have low profiles which are elevated by spacers to mitigate the aggressiveness of the position if required. But this results in reduced headset stiffness and is therefore a rather suboptimal solution. With the “Modular Head”, MERIDA offers a comparatively more elegant and considerably safer technology: Via special modules, the headtube length can be increased effectively by 20 or 40 mm. Utilization of these modules increases the support width of the bearing shells and thus also the already convincing headset stiffness once again – a superb advantage you will especially appreciate along mountainous and winding routes. Furthermore, you will surely like the fact that our TIME WARP models feature some additional MERIDA highlights such as “Nano Matrix” carbon, a full-carbon fork, internal cable routing or an aerodynamically optimized rear brake…
