One-Eighty Freeride
For MY 2015, we position ourselves totally new in the Freeride sector. The former FREDDY now goes under the name ONE-EIGHTY, and it can be whatever you want it in the world of long downhills and big airs. It’s available either as an agile and playful long-travel Enduro or as a mini downhill machine you can shred any bikepark with. Depending on configuration, the super-capable suspension in the front and the rear will always match the Freeride demands of the rider. With “Virtual Pivot Kinematics” suspension and ultra-short stems, all models are designed for maximum downhill performance and sharp handling. The stem (only 45 mm) is always accompanied by a 760 mm handlebar. The top-of-the-line model ONE-EIGHTY 6.900, intended to be used as a “Long-Travel Enduro”, has particularly been optimized in terms of weight. Due to impressive 600 g less than in the previous year, a 1x11 drivetrain, 180 mm of travel, plus the playful agility already known from our FREDDY this bike really shines in the most technical terrain. The highlight of the even more robust ONE-EIGHTY 6.500 is a Marzocchi 888 CR double-crown fork with golden stanchions and a customized setup for MERIDA. Together with the plushness of the Rock Shox coil shock in the rear, the 6.500 model presents itself as a “mini DH solution” which is considerably lighter than “conventional” 200 mm bikes – and thus offers much more agility.
