The India Pavilion was officially inaugurated by Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi at the Indo-Pacific Space and Earth Conference (IPSEC) 2024, held at Crown Perth. The pavilion, organized by the Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India) in partnership with the Western Australian Government, featured a delegation of over 10 Indian space industry companies. These companies highlighted their technological capabilities and explored collaborative opportunities with the global space community.

Head of the Australian Space Agency Enrico Palermo also visited the pavilion, where he was honored by SIA-India. Consul General Takhi interacted with space experts and officials, strengthening ties between India and Australia in the space sector.

During his visit, Takhi was also briefed on Australia’s prototype lunar rover, developed by the Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth consortium in Perth.

The exhibition, running through November 28, 2024, also spotlighted a new collaboration between WA-based LatConnect60 and India’s Skyroot Aerospace. The two companies announced a joint project to launch their first satellite in December 2026, with funding from the Australian Space Agency’s International Space Investment India Projects grant, aimed at fostering deeper ties between Australian and Indian space industries.
