ohn Balzano will be leading a trip to São Miguel, Azores, from March 8 to 15, 2019. It is the perfect vacation destination for adventure seekers and those looking for an off-thebeaten-path European destination. Often considered the Hawaii of the mid-Atlantic, the Azores are just four hours from Boston. The landscape includes exotic plants, dormant volcanos, mountains, waterfalls, mud pots and natural hot springs. Group members must be able to hike two to four hours on uneven terrain, as they will be exploring four amazing walking trails. They will also experience canyoning in Ribeira dos Caldeirões and trail biking in the Graminhais mountains. There will also be opportunities for whale watching, sailing, diving, surfing and other watersports, as well as horseback riding. This offer includes direct flights to Ponta Delgada, São Miguel (Roundtrip) and accommodations at a four-star hotel based on double occupancy, nestled in one of the world’s best green retreats, with 24-hour access to the Terra Nostra Botanical Gardens and outdoor hot spring pools.
