T.A.A.F. TEAM PROGRAMS McAllen Parks and Recreation is proud to offer Texas Amateur Athletics Federation (T.A.A.F.) programs. Young athletes will compete against other individuals and teams from across the Rio Grande Valley and the state in various sports including track & field, golf, swimming and tennis. Teams will attend local tournaments and meets, earning the opportunity to compete at the regional level. Qualifying athletes will earn a chance to compete in the state Games of Texas, a week-long Olympic style competition featuring a variety of sports. Experienced athletes are invited to join Team McAllen. A complete schedule of meets and competitions will be provided once classes begin. Individual T.A.A.F. membership is included in the class fee. Other fees including individual meet fees are the responsibility of the participant. All parents of athletes participating in T.A.A.F. programs will be REQUIRED to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, June 7th at 7:00 p.m. at Las Palmas Community Center. We will provide you with information for the upcoming summer and your child's programs. Parents of athletes that qualify for the Games of Texas will be required to attend a meeting. We will discuss travel, expenses and general information regarding the trip to College Station. NOTE : The minimum age to travel with Team McAllen is eight years of age.

TO BE ANNOUNCED Team Tennis is for the experienced tennis players (ages 6-18 years) who want to improve their stroke, game strategy, and ball placement while working toward regional and state competition within Region 2 of the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation. Participants who qualify for advanced competition are responsible for their own travel expenses.
