Ken Stoesz began as pastor at Elmwood MB Church Aug. 1, 2013. He previously served 9 years with Nassau Street Church (formerly Gospel Mennonite), Winnipeg, as associate pastor of evangelism. He studied at YWAM Brisbane, Aus., Providence College, Otterburne, Man., and is currently working toward an MA in theology through Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Chicago. Ken and Shonet have 3 children. From within the congregation, Elmwood also welcomed Cory Schulz as associate pastor of youth and young adult ministries, beginning in July 2013. Cory attended Capernwray in Sweden and has served as a camp counsellor with Inner City Youth Alive, Winnipeg, and Simonhouse Bible Camp, Cranberry Portage, Man. Dalhousie Community Church, Calgary, experienced changes in their pastoral team. Sam Grottenberg began as pastor of youth and young adult ministries Aug. 13, 2013. He has a BA in leadership development from Rocky Mountain College, Calgary, and is working on a masters from Regent College, Vancouver. He previously pastored at Centre Street and Southwood churches in Calgary. Sam is married to Stephanie. Aug. 6, 2013, former youth pastor Tom Mulhern began a new role tailored to his demonstrated gifts – associate pastor of worship and missions. He and Malora have 2 children. Associate pastor of family ministries Mark Richmond concluded his ministry at Dalhousie June 30, 2013. Brad Berkan began as pastor of corporate worship at Forest Grove Community Church, Saskatoon, Aug. 15, 2013. He received a bachelor of religion with a

Reflecting on God’s faithfulness boosts Gratham’s trust that God is leading toward greater kingdom purposes, as they proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to their neighbours. The congregation appreciates the leadership of pastors Tabitha and Michael VandenEnden, worship coordinator Ruth Wiebe, senior care coordinator Margaret Fast, and board moderator Bill Jackson.

Ryan van Kuik was installed as pastor at Boundary Community Church, Midway, B.C., Aug. 25, 2013. He most recently served a church in Three Hills, Alta., 2000–2010. He is married to Juanita, and they have 2 daughters. Mark Danyluk, pastor since 2002, completed his ministry there in 2012. Founding pastor Vic Peters served as interim pastor for 6 months. Robert (Bert) Bell, CCMBC stewardship representative for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, retired from his 9-year ministry with the conference. Stewardship representatives will extend their services across the Prairies. Chief Financial Officer John Wiebe retired from his position at the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Aug. 30, 2013. “We are grateful for John’s enthusiastic and creative approach to financial ministry,” says CCMBC executive director Willy Reimer. “John has always focused on multiplying ministry through financial resources and services focused on honouring God and multiplying the churches’ kingdom impact.”
Hafford Gospel Fellowship celebrated 25 years as a congregation in 2013 with a special service Sept. 8, 2013. Borden MB Church members began Bible studies in the area in the mid-1970s, then a church formally organized, holding its first service in the community hall on Sunday afternoon in 1988. Conrad Hunchak and his wife Lynne have been serving the congregation as pastor for 18 years. Hafford officially joined the Saskatchewan Conference of MB Churches in 1998. The congregation acquired a building in 2004, and recently changed its meeting time from Sunday evenings to Sunday mornings. MENNONITE BRETHREN HERALD October 2013
