UNITY BREWING COMPANY

Based in Southampton, on the banks of the River Itchen, Unity Brewing Co was founded in 2016 by Jimmy Hatherley. After seven years in different areas of the brewing industry, Jimmy decided to branch out on his own and start up Unity Brewing Co. Unity Brewing Co is a busy, 20hl brewery and taproom at the heart of the expanding South Coast craft beer scene.

As well as being the Founder, Jimmy is totally hands-on, working closely with his small team in all aspects of the company including being heavily involved in recipe and quality development. He has a passion for yeast-driven beers - from ever-popular soft and juicy New England IPAs to the rustic, crisp and refreshing seasonal farmhouse ales of Belgium.

Unity believe beer is unique in bringing people together as a result of bringing ingredients together. At Unity they produce modern craft beer to make people feel good, united and satisfied.

Their approach combines innovation and creativity with a focus on people and developing for the future, in a spirit of positivity. They are proud to be community-owned and are committed to making beer they want YOU to enjoy. They’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with an array of inspiring breweries, organisations and friends, including Affinity, Alvarado St, Boxcar, Cloudwater, Deya, Duration, Elusive, Frontaal, Gods House Tower, Left Handed Giant, Lost & Grounded, River Coffee Roasters, Track and Verdant among others.

They also have a side project - May Provisions - focusing on continental and traditional beers, paying homage to the foundations that have allowed craft beer to bloom.

Come what may, they hope we will always be together through beer.

UNITY BRINGS TOGETHER IDEAS AND INGREDIENTS TO CREATE WELL-CRAFTED, FLAVOURFUL BEER...

They have an on-site taproom, for which they increased capacity this year, a relaxed area where you can meet friends for a drink or pick up some beer and merchandise to take home. Last year they installed a new canning line which means that they have full control over every aspect of their brewing and packaging quality.

There are currently three regular beers Conflux, Collision and Prinzen, all details of which are on the website, but regular special releases can be seen on the social media channels (all @unitybrewingco). Their beer is found in all good bottle shops and bars in Hampshire and often available in independent establishments all over the UK, as well as France and the Netherlands. They are a proud contributor to the popular, growing South Coast beer movement.

It is also vital to Unity’s ethos that their staff and network are all welltreated with integrity and openness. Jimmy believes in quality before quantity, people before profit, and celebrating Unity’s people, Unity’s beer and the Brewing industry in a spirit of positivity and collectivism.
