LYNN’S LINES

A Lasting Legacy Above: Lynn lived life to its fullest. Below: A tribute to Lynn at last month’s PG Live - ‘Lynn’s Legacy’ was honoured by Ladder Club members, speakers and friends.

Every month for the last 20 years these two pages of PG have been filled with the inspiring, honest and heart-felt words of Lynn Tait, owner of The Lynn Tait Gallery and ‘Queen’ of The Ladder Club. Very sadly, Lynn lost her hard fought battle with Myeloma, a rare blood cancer on June 1. However her legacy lives on in so many ways, not least through the hundreds of publishers she has nurtured through The Ladder Club. Following on from last month’s PG, when Ladder Clubbies shared just some of the lessons they had learned from the wondrous Lynn Tait, here other publishers share their tributes to this very special lady who will never be forgotten.

“Lynn accepted me as a beginner and pointed me in the direction of success. She constantly radiated confidence, determination and optimism and shone beams of light on a road that is not always easy as a new card publisher. She had the most amazing gift of connecting and growing people. Sending Lynn beams of love and light.” Willow Cairn, founder of My Greeting Card Designs

“We were so saddened to hear the news about Lynn. She was a very special lady and we always felt her love. We will remain forever thankful for her championing of what we were trying to achieve in the industry.” Ben Hicks and Mark Williams, directors of Brainbox Candy “It's truly an impossible task trying to sum up the enormous debt of gratitude that is owed to Lynn in just a few lines. She has offered unconditional support, sound advice, a shoulder to cry on and friendship, not only to Ladderclubbies, but to countless other greeting card publishers over many years. She was truly unique in her generosity and kindness to share her wealth of experience. It is with no exaggeration to say that the flourishing greeting card industry in the UK has Lynn to thank for enabling much of its creative talent to succeed in such a competitive market.” Hannah Wrendale, partner of Wrendale Designs
