H I STO RY Established in 1977 under the name “Intreprinderea de Mașini-Unelte, Accesorii și Scule” (Machine Tools, Accessories and Tools Corporation) – IMUAS, the company was later known by the customers under the name of “Ramira”. With the Romanian state as sole shareholder, Ramira was one of the most famous manufacturers and exporters of machine tools - for honing, bending, dulling and sharpening, with their respective accessories and tools. By 1990 the company had over 3,000 employees. In 2000 the company was taken over by the Group Izoterom Baia Mare as a major shareholder. They started an investment and reorganization program consisting of acquisitions of production equipment. The entry among European automotive suppliers in 2002 led to an increase in turnover and the number of employees, from 50 in 2002 to 340 in 2008. The full takeover of Ramira in 2013 by the Czech group Chropynska was the solution for financial rehabilitation and maintaining the company among automotive suppliers. The Czech Employer, with a long-term vision, has completed the under way investment projects, and at the same time, it has carried out new ones, consisting of acquisitions of high performance machines for processing and control, setting up production areas, creating modern work conditions, training areas for employees and promoting the company on the market. Therefore, today Ramira enjoys appreciation as a supplier in the world’s automotive industry.
