Philanthropic Funding in 2022
Donors are so important to our mission. Their direct support helps make all of this work affordable for Habitat program participants. Individuals, grant funders, and corporate donors help raise walls and replace roofs by giving unrestricted gifts and funding that supports specific programs and projects.

ThankGrant funding is our largest source of philanthropic support. This year, top funders like the City of Toledo, Ohio Department of Health, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, the Greater Toledo Community Foundation, ProMedica, Fifth Third Bank, Area Office on Aging, Habitat for Humanity of Ohio, and Signature Bank made significant investment in MVHFH programs. All grants totaled over $3.1 million dollars. Thank you!
Corporate and community funders gave over $822,000 in 2022, the most they have ever invested in a year through partner builds, specific preservation projects, Rock the Blocks, team days on the Faith Build, Women Build, and Playhouse Builds! Top funders included Owens Corning, Therma-Tru, St. Johns XXIII, Installed Building Products, Fifth Third Bank, Cleveland-Cliffs, and Toledo Refining Company. Thank you!
The Playhouse Project is a unique fundraising event that is both a friend –and fundraiser for MVHFH’s Mission. In 2022, 65 playhouses were designed, built, and gifted to area children by over 860 volunteers from sponsoring teams. The year kicks off with a 30 playhouse Blitz Build at Fifth Third Field and additional playhouses are built on a site of the sponsors choice. In 2022, Playhouse Project raised $165,256, which is almost enough to build an entire Habitat home. This is why we say, “little houses help build big houses.”
Individuals gave over $208,000 in unrestricted giving through annual giving. The largest increase in impactful giving from individuals came through donor advised funds and IRA distributions. Thank you!
