Art has been my main interest since I was first introduced at a young age by my grandmother in her printmaking studio. She inspired me to create and have an appreciation for the exploration of new ideas. I investigated my creative passion throughout my adolescent years until I was introduced to graphic design in high school. My instructor showed me the unique way that graphic design merges artistic expression with innovative problem solving. This combination motivated my pursuit of the study of graphic design at Flagler College. I enjoy the idea that my creativity can help people gain insight and allow them to have a better understanding of the world around them. I strive for the level of graphic design that is aesthetically pleasing and embodies that ultimate goal.

808 KEYS

Interactive Piano Edutainment App

According to a Nielson survey, Hip-Hop is now the most listened to genre in the United States taking up a quarter of the market. The goal was to encourage preteen children to play the piano using a nontraditional method. Piano is the best instrument to begin pursuing making music because it is the perfect building block instrument. Once someone learns the basics of piano, they have the ability to apply the knowledge learned on the piano to other instruments. The solution utilizes the heavy piano use in Hip-Hop production to inspire kids to pursue the piano. 808 Keys allows the user to learn the piano basics by teaching them how to play piano along with their favorite Hip-Hop songs. The presence of the actual notes on the piano keys that the user is playing allows them to subconsciously learn the piano scale. The comic book style color, imagery, and typography give the app an entertaining look and feel that distracts from the fact that they are learning.


App Icon & Avatar

The 808 Keys mobile app icon is a combination of a three dimensional perspective of piano keys and a comic book style treatment using the typeface Frazzle. The avatar on the right is a default template for the user to customize their producer to give the app a more personal feel.


Play

The play section allows the user to play along with their favorite Hip-Hop tracks on the difficulty level of their choice. The user will preview and select a song to learn. The notes come down the screen and the user must hit the keys when the note is present in the outline before it disappears. Then the user will receive a score and star rating based on the performance.


Create

The create section allows the user to select a synth sound and a drum loop to create beats. The user can save the beats by pressing play and record in the top bar. The saved beats can be accessed in the top right list icon to allow future listening and sharing with friends.


Customize

The customize section allows the user to customize the look of the producer. The user can go through each section and select a look. The user can also hit the shuffle icon to get a pre-designed producer. 2 SONGKICK

Mobile App Ad Campaign

Songkick is a location based mobile app that has created an innovative way to hear about concerts. Songkick has little to no ad presence as an up and coming mobile application. The goal of this ad campaign is to build brand awareness and encourage all concertgoers to download Songkick for Android and iPhone. The target audience is any male or female with a smartphone over the age of eighteen who enjoys seeing live music. The solution includes print ads located in music and leisure magazines, larger outdoor ads in high traffic areas, and lastly a short promotional video that can be seen online. The tagline for the campaign is “Every concert. Every city. In your pocket”. The ad features a shot of a phone and the immediate access to artist’s concerts inside of a pocket. There is also a snaptag in combination with the logo that allows users to easily download the app.


Interactive Bus Stop Ad

The ad will be placed in high traffic areas where people may be sitting. The ad contains a snaptag that can be scanned with any phone camera. Once the person takes a picture of the snaptag, they will get a text message with the link to download the app.


Online Video Ad

This short promotional video will show before music related videos on sites such as YouTube. The video displays the tagline “Every artist. Every city. In your pocket.� and has a pop up link that the viewer can click to instantly download the app.


3 PATUXANT

Branding, Business Package & Website

Patuxant Capital Investments is a startup company based in Annapolis, Maryland. It invests in small businesses and single family homes in order to make the property value rise. The target audience is any property owner in the Deleware, Maryland, and Virginia area that is passionate about creating more overall demand for their property. The goal is to build brand awareness and establish Patuxant Capital Investments as a professional real estate competitor. The solution includes a brand new logo designed from the combination of a house and a vetical arrow. It represents rising property value. The design was applied to a business package and website to allow Patuxant to communicate professionally and inform potential clients. These components will establish the company’s precence and identity.


Business Package

The business card has a sleek and eye catching look. The back contains a bevel effect with gold foil stamping that makes the logo standout. The business package gives Patuxant a professional and cohesive company identity. It shows the versatility of the logo applied in different formats.


Website Home Page

The website is a great hub for the user to get all of the necessary information about Patuxant. It allows the user to learn more about the company background and the services Patuxant offers. The footer has all of the contact information as well as the social media where Patuxant is active. It also allows the user to sign up for a monthly newsletter with success stories and special offers.

QUOKKA

Branding & Packaging

Quokka CBD is a fictional startup company that produces pure liquid cannabidiol (CBD) products that can be ingested orally or vaped to provide physical and mental health benefits. The target audience is any male or female over the age of eighteen that suffers from physical or mental health issues such as pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and addiction. The target audience will live all over the United States because CBD does not contain any illegal substances. The solution includes a company name and logo that embodies the benefits of CBD. A quokka is a marsupial that is biologically inclined to smile. This represents the benefits of the product. The color scheme is inspired by the environment. The logo is applied to a label for the bottle of CBD liquid. Lastly, the logo is applied to a protective box for the bottle of liquid so it can be sold on the shelves.


Bottle Label

CBD tincture comes in three different milligram strengths that are represented by color. In order from weakest to strongest potency, they range from 500 mg (green), to 750 mg (red) and 1000 mg (blue). The consumer will choose their milligram level after consulting with a physician.


Packaging Dielines

The box provides consumers with all of the information they need educate themselves about the product in the store. The packaging is sustainable because it is printed on recycled paper products.


Product Mock-ups

The box fits the bottle of liquid snuggly so the product stays safe during transport. The box is shown to the left of each bottle of liquid.

Both the bottle label and the box contain all the necessary information about the product for the consumer.


5 TÍO PAULO’S

Branding, Menu & Food Truck

Tío Paulo’s is a fictional self-owned food truck that specializes in New Mexican style breakfast tacos and burritos. They are based in St. Augustine, Florida. They standout from many eateries in the area because of their unique hours of operation. They are open from 10pm to 2am and again from 9am to 1pm. The target audience is any male or female in the St. Augustine area who wants to get a late night bite to eat or a quick and easy breakfast in the morning. The solution includes a brand new logo design that is a combination of a taco and a sun. The color scheme is inspired by the terra cotta and desert colors of the southwest. The logo is applied to a take away menu and the food truck exterior.


Menu/Flyer

The menu is a skinny double sided format that is meant to be taken home by the customer. It contains all of the menu items on the front side as well as important information about the food truck on the back side. The typeface Raleway was chosen for its legibility.


Food Truck

The Tío Paulo’s truck has a simple, but effective design that matches the style of the food served out of the truck. The truck displays the logo, tagline, as well as contact information.

CYPRESS

Branding, Business Package & Website

Cypress Trades is a self-owned startup company that focuses on stock investment portfolio diversification, capital asset allocation, and ratios. The target audience is anyone who plays the stock market that is interested in analysis, advice and diversification of their stock portfolio. The audience will tend to live all over the United States due to the ease of communication. The goal is to build brand awareness and create a professional financial business identity. The solution includes a brand new logo designed from the combination of a cypress leaf and an upward trend. The color chosen is representative of the cypress, as well as gains in the stock market. The logo design was applied to a business package and website to allow Cypress Trades to communicate professionally and inform potential clients. These components will establish the self-owned company’s precence and identity.


Business Package

The business package has a cohesive feel and provides all of the necessary information to get in touch with Cypress Trades. The business card has a simple, but effective design that displays the logo on the back and all of the contact information on the front.


Website Home Page

The website is a great hub for the consumer to get all of the necessary information about Cypress Trades. It allows the user to learn more about the company’s background and the services offered. It also allows the client to contact the company about getting a quote or scheduling a consultation. In the carousel, there are real time stock charts showing what the company is trading at the moment. The footer of the website contains social media links where Cypress Trades is active to allow the user to keep up with news and updates.


7 NONCHALANT

Logo, Cover Art & Promotional Media

Nonchalant is a fictional music producer who creates electronic music that is a combination of Future, Indie, House, and Hip-Hop genres. The target audience is any person in the approximate age range of 16-30 that enjoys electronic music and looks for new innovative sounds. They most likely use a streaming platform such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud. The goal is to create a legitimate visual identity for Nonchalant to allow his music to receive more attention. The solution includes a brand new logo design for the producer’s identity. It also includes the cover art for the producer’s first official EP that will be available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud. These two components contribute to the design of the artist’s streaming and online identity. The final component is a high quality t-shirt using the logo and cover art.


Apple Music Mobile

The design solution for the cover art is shown here in one of the most common ways that a person would view an album cover. Mobile Apple Music is one of the biggest streaming platforms used by music lovers.


Spotify Web

Spotify is another large streaming platform for mobile and web. It can be utilized by artists to gain exposure and develop a solid following. It allows the artist’s music to circulate by being added to playlists by users and other artists.


Soundcloud Web

This format is an immersive experience that allows more of the artist’s visual identity to be displayed. It is a socially based streaming platform that gives the artist the opportunity to connect with users on a more personal level. It also allows their music to circulate by being reposted by users and other artists.


T-shirt Design

This design features the cover art and a small logo printed on a high quality t-shirt. Merchandise is a very effective way for the artist to gain income and a stronger following.


8 CONCENSUS

Fan Tracker Mobile App

Concensus is a location based app that allows fans of music to request their favorite artists to come perform in cities near them. The target audience is any male or female music fan between the ages of approximately 18-35. Concensus benefits both the fan and the artist by connecting them like never before. The goal for Concensus is to create an eye catching phone application identity and user friendly interface. The app name Concensus is a combination of the words concert and census. The solution includes a brand new logo design that is a combination of two location icons bridged by a musical note. The location icons symbolize the fan and artist connecting. The app has both a fan and an artist interface. The fan interface allows the user to request an artist to perform in a specific city and venue. The artist interface allows the user to track statistics in order to plan a successful concert tour.


Add Artists to Request

After Concensus adds your location and scans your music library, tap the magnifying glass to search additional artists. The user can search the Concensus database to add artists that were not in their music library. After finding the artist the user was looking for, tap the plus sign to add the artist.


Request Artists

The user will see the artist that they added in the My Artists home screen. The fan can click on any artist to view the artist’s profile. The profile gives the user some basic information about the artist and some ways to listen to their music. It also allows the user to request the artist to come to a specific venue. The user can request an artist multiple times at different locations. The request will contribute to the statistics that the artist can view to see where users want them to perform.
