Program Note: Living in the city takes some getting used to. There is a larger population of rodents here than where I've previously lived. One night a mouse managed to get into the apartment's kitchen, causing chaos for myself and my roommates. Being chased, the mouse ran up the side of the oven and hid out in the stovetop burner. Acting quickly, one of my roommates turned on all of the burners in order to flush the mouse out. This led to a frantic and smoking mouse fleeing the stove and out the back door.

Notation Guide: •It is recommended that this piece be performed directly from the score so each performer can see how their part lines up with the other one. Both performers could share one row of stands, or perform from their own copies. •This piece can be performed on any two clarinets, as long as they are in the same key. •The dotted bar lines serve as markers to help the performers stay in sync at important intrances. •Accidentals apply only to the note they immediatly proceed, and do not carry through the octave. •X noteheads indicate key clicks; diamond noteheads indicate blowing air with no pitch. Dynamics in these sections are approximate, indicating more or less air to alter the sound. •Notes within the box are to be repeated ad lib for the duration indicated by the line.
